Demure might not be the first word that comes to mind when you think of Nicki Minaj, but on the new covers of Dazed & Confused the stunning singer / rapper / actress and newly signed One Management model is ladylike in Chanel and Miu Miu. Jeff Bark (Management + Artists) and Robbie Spencer offer a refined new perspective on an artist who continues to evolve & surprise. Though she sports a slinky gold swimsuit in one shot, the images are more elegant than outlandish – think 40s era pinup rather than aughts pop star. The launch of the Dazed covers wraps up a busy NYFW for Minaj, who sat front row at several shows and even found the time to teach the models at Alexander Wang how to dance.

Inside the issue models are given the spotlight via a luxurious sportswear feature by Ben Toms styled by Mattias Karlsson. Capturing the casual yet exclusive vibe of the moment the story features Helena Severin lounging in a series of looks that could be ripped from the runways or taken straight out of the closet of a chic athlete. Karlsson’s combinations are on point, with puffy bubble jackets and printed swimwear looking haute when paired with sky high heels.

For even more from Dazed’s A/W Issue head on over to Dazed Digital for an in depth preview.

Modeling and acting have always crossed paths, but Daniel Jackson takes the connection to the next level with his latest for Acne Paper. Some of the industry’s freshest faces get a bit of dramatic training for Jackson’s camera: Julia Saner, Anais Pouliot, Taras Koltun, Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Kate King, Iris Egbers, Alexander Beck and Colinne Michaelis clutch scripts, do table reads and put on a full show, while wearing pieces pulled by Mattias Karlsson. With each model displaying a full range of emotion and Jackson’s stark black and whites setting the mood, this is one story Strasberg could be proud of.

Sebastian Faena presents an unexpectedly subdued story for VMan. Meghan Collison, Sean O’Pry, Siri Tollerod and Christian Brylle, cast by Andrew Weir, star as two well dressed couples in Faena’s 60s inspired studio edit. Valerija Kelava and Jenny Sinkaberg are two new faces whose edgy looks have made them hot commodities. In the latest Dazed and Confused, the pair struts their stuff for Kacper Kasprzyk, in a story that focuses on the interplay between hard and soft. Mattias Karlsson‘s styling gives the story its undone look – pairing Prada and Miu Miu to great effect. The clothes are lovely but Valerija and Jenny the perfect embodiment of the new grunge chic.47399_117_122_430lo
