Master Class is in Session

January 25th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Class is in session and Vogue Paris harnesses the talents of three image-makers to dish out lessons in style. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh MatadinAlasdair McLellan and Mario Sorrenti lend  their respective lenses to capture a crop of the most in-demand girls giving an effortless how-to on wearing the latest season’s offerings. Of course we can’t all get dressed by stylists like Suzanne KollerMarie Chaix or Emmanuelle Alt, but it’s a good opportunity to take notes. Done in three parts from Edie Campbell‘s cover editorial to Karly Loyce and Lineisy Montero showing how to put some backbone in your fashion choices, while Alasdair gives his unstudied touch to his casting-centric series. See a preview of the editorials below.

January is for Gigi

December 7th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

What’s Gigi Hadid‘s New Year’s resolution? Apparently to set the record straight for any skeptics leaving little doubt about her all-star rank, if her Victoria’s Secret runway debut wasn’t enough. The girl on fire adds another notch to her Vogue belt with the solo cover of British Vogue by Patrick Demarchelier just after her November Vogue Italia cover.  Versace keeps her in good company (to say the least) next to supermodel fixtures Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann shot by Steven Klein , while Stuart Weitzman‘s campaign features a stripped down Gigi between Joan Smalls and Lily Aldridge, further exalting her position amongst the forces of modeling. Add on her Numéro cover and it’s looking like it’s going to be a very Gigi 2016.

Etro gets intimate with Kate Moss

August 24th, 2015 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

It’s a dark paradise for Etro‘s latest campaign for the Fall. The Milanese-based, paisley heavy brand relies on the wondrous talents of supermodel Kate Moss and milliner Nick Fouquet to bring their intimate vision of colder temps and opulent designs to life. The pair leisurely lounge amongst a cluster of luxurious patterns captured by the master eye of Mario Testino. Interior design and furnishing fabrics swirl throughout the collection that makes you feel right at home no matter the setting.

Poly Power

August 21st, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

It’s never hard to find a good reason to write about Natasha Poly–whether it’s recapping a prolific career that sports endless covers and campaigns, or simply musing on the catwalk queen’s iconic power strut. So, if only to remind ourselves of her interminable dominance ever since 2004, it’s worth mentioning her latest haul for Autumn 2015. For the cover of the Vogue Paris‘ September issue, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the super radiates a wild, untamed beauty–courtesy of stylist Emmanuelle Alt and makeup artist Val Garland. Back in her homeland, Natasha fronts the latest issue of Vogue Russia. The look here is austere, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Olga Dunina, looking perfectly chic in lustrous leathers with a defining bold eye by Virginia Young. Besides these two top glossies–no sweat–Miss Poly can be seen in Michael Kors’ Fall 2015 campaign all polished and lensed by Mario Testino. Certainly she’s flexing a little Poly Power! But when is she not? Viva Natasha!

Lily Aldridge Sizzles Over the Summer

July 14th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Heading into August, the summer months brought a good haul for Lily AldridgeCarolina Herrera‘s FW 15 campaign plus the face of their fragrance, covering both L’Officiel & L’Officiel Netherlands and she’s fronting this month’s Vogue Turkey. The Victoria’s Secret Angel, who also can be seen in Taylor Swift‘s model-studded music video for “Bad Blood” and part of the pop-star’s real life squad, is definitely having a summer sizzle moment. Front and center for Vogue Turkey, David Bellemere photographs her gracefully posed against a lush and blooming backdrop. For Herrera, Lily is clothed in rose red looking extra sophisticated. The L’Officiel covers, both lensed by Hugh Lippe and styled by Keegan Singh, find two fashion facets of the Angel–for the Netherlands, they keep things red-hot with warm tones and undone hair.  For Paris the look is polished, cool and fresh having the American model pose beachside. Hopefully Lily’s summer winning keeps rolling into the fall.

The Royals

March 11th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For the April issue of British Vogue models of the kingdom Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Suki Waterhouse huddle together in summery, beaded dresses for Mario Testino (Art Partner). What better way to immortalize the trio’s friendship than together on the front of the glossy with a scantily clad inside story. It also marks Suki’s first time on the cover of Vogue UK, Georgia’s third and Cara’s fourth.

BFFs

February 13th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

Time spent with your best friend is always time well spent, so Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swifts March cover of American Vogue strikes a special chord. As an exceptionally dynamic duo the two have made headlines with their extremely close friendship, spreading girl power and positivity with every red carpet appearance and adorable Instragram photo. Mikael Jansson shoots the besties in road trip mode, cruising through Big Sur in a convertible and sporting Tonne Goodman styled bohemian wares from Saint Laurent and Valentino. Jansson’s photos are so good you can almost hear the sound of Swift’s hit ‘Shake it Off’ blaring on the radio as you look at them.

The Brit Pack

December 15th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Nothing beats a spectacular pairing of two generations of supermodel and Burberry Prorsum delivers all that and then-some with a gorgeous S/S campaign by Mario Testino featuring Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn. In keeping with the precedent set by the recent My Burberry ads starring Kate Moss & Cara, these new ads showcase the timelessness of Burberry’s signature pieces by featuring two of Britain’s best known faces in trenches and tartan shot by Mario Testino. (Art Partner) Christopher Bailey‘s colorful and dynamic spring collection comes to life in the accompanying video where Jourdan & Naomi smile and giggle while joined by male model musicians George Barnett and George Le Page, who round out the all British cast.
