Donatella’s Stars

November 25th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Lady Gaga‘s surprisingly understated ad for Versace accessories is one of the most talked about campaigns of the moment, but the Versace love affair with fame goes way back. Every few seasons Donatella enlists a star from the world of film, tv or music to pout and preen in the brand’s memorable campaigns and over the years they’ve racked up an impressive array of luminaries. Versace will always be synonymous with the supermodel era but they’re equally known for their connection to the world of celebrity. Star power has always been one of the driving forces behind Versace’s appeal on and off the red carpet – take a look back at some of the famous faces to front ads for the legendary label.

EXCLUSIVE: Longchamp Leaps

December 13th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Take a first look at the S/S 13 campaign from Longchamp, in all its glory. Shot in JFK airport’s historic, Eero Saarinen designed TWA terminal, the campaign is all about movement; who better to embody that idea, than the jet setting, high flying and haute posing, Coco Rocha! In her third season working with the luxe brand, Coco delivers her signature acrobatic poses all while playing the part of ultra-chic traveler, a role we’re sure she’s familiar with. Fellow catwalker Liisa Winkler joins her for the journey, since every trip is better with a fashionable friend and the duo busts a move even as they head through airport security. Fun fact: choreographer Salim Gauwloos, the man behind Madonna‘s Blonde Ambition tour collaborated on the imagery. Take a first look at the new ads and the behind the scenes imagery below.

The Music Men

March 28th, 2012 |Posted by models.com

This past week we were graced with new music videos by two pop divas and a queen. The month started when a Canadian singer Carly Rae Jespen debuted her music video for “Call Me Maybe” featuring the first in spring’s wave of videos with male models. Say goodbye to the days of the model video vixen, we welcome the presence of fashion’s finest men.

No stranger to a Lana Del Rey video, Bradley Soileau makes his second video appearance in “Blue Jeans” as her half-man-half-crocodile pool side lover.

What’s the best way to get over your cheating ex? Katy Perry makes her statement by enlisting with the Marines after catching Lucas Kerr red handed at the office in the “Part of Me” video. Let’s just hope that Katy and Baptiste Giabiconi can find a happier ending than that.

And never to be outdone, Madonna takes no prisoners in her Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott directed video by taking on not one, but five of the top male models in her video for “Girl Gone Wild.”

Fashion and music seem to go hand in hand and we can’t help but wonder; who will be the next fabulous face in this growing trend?

Carly Rae Jespen – “Call Me Maybe” featuring Holden Nowell

Lana Del Rey – “Blue Jeans” featuring Bradley Soileau

Katy Perry – “Part of Me” featuring Lucas Kerr

Madonna – “Girl Gone Wild” featuring Brad Alphonso, Jon Kortajarena, Rob Evans, Sean O’Pry, and Simon Nessman

The Sun God

April 22nd, 2010 |Posted by contributor

The sun is back and it’s that time of the year when our favorite magazines are pushing eyewear. These accessories are as essential as the clothes themselves with more and more campaigns dedicated especially to them. Here’s a peek at Nimue Smit for Giorgio Armani, Constance Jablonski for cK Calvin Klein, Freja Beha Erichsen for Chanel, Anna Jagodzinska for David Yurman, and of course Madonna in her eyewear capsule collection for D&G. My personal favorite for S/S10? The Tom Ford Nikita in tortoise shell shown on Jacquelyn Jablonski, by William Selden for Another Magazine S/S10. What’s your must have eyewear accessory of the season? (Story by Kristen Bolt)
