We adore Mathu Placek’s polaroids for V Magazine fall blowout party. Check out Sessilee Lopez, Liya Kebede and Cecilia Dean up close and personal.

Speaking of V, their new beauty issue has THE top beauty names in the biz. It’s a must buy…

Death is the new black. There’s something about some of the newest images out there that are definitely disturbing.

New classic Brazilian guy by Didio,Leandro Cagliari, in various states of undress of course.

Josh Beech can do it all. Besides the modeling and singing, he’s taking pictures that comment on the personal, political and cultural influences in his travels. A snippet appears on The Malcolm which showcase that this handsome young man is more than just a pretty face.

The Last Magazine, the ultra cool, ultra large fashion/art magazine, needs interns.

Bits and Bytes: Who is Fernando?

April 23rd, 2009 |Posted by Betty @ MODELS.com

fernando

Just who is this Brazilian beauty?

And from the Imagist (if you missed these stories): Tyson Ballou looking like the supermodel he is still; i-D magazine issue 300 is guaranteed to be multi covers again; Abbey Lee Kershaw in Gucci- the commercial (who by the way looks like she has the superpower of moving the wind, a la X-Men or Heroes)

We love illustrators! Check out the interview with Jed Root’s Jenny Mortsell (and the delightful Drew Barrymore pic).

Liya Kebede feels the Obama effect on fashion!

You could be the next Sean John face!

After 20 years shooting exclusively at Elle, Gilles Bensimon is at Redbook, and it looks very beautiful!

Naomi Campbell gets another award. We love the dual Naomi, sometimes the narcissistic diva, sometimes the selfless humanitarian.

Grazia digs up Madonna’s first photo shoot.

Curious for more pics on Jesus Luz? Click here and here.

A friendly reminder for all of you who work in the “biz”, this guy lost an advertising campaign because of Facebook and Twitter. Learn from this poor guy’s mistake.

Production thinks Stephanie Seymour’s interview with Alber Elbaz is fabulous!

Don’t worry, young up and coming female models, Angela Missoni supports you!

OH NO, in very sad news…. makeup artist Louie Sibley (who worked with Dick Page, Pat McGrath) has passed away at the too soon age of 42.

The Godfather

April 14th, 2009 |Posted by Betty @ MODELS.com

If you are like most of us in the industry, Steven Meisel holds an extra special fascination because of his prodigious talent and vision, his longevity and his ability to instantaneously create a star. What also sets him apart from any other photographer is, in the word’s of Vogue’s Jonathan Van Meter an “almost impenetrable mystique“. It was with great excitement that we read the excerpted interview with Meisel on Style.com. There are so many intriguing and never known details about the legendary lensman. The complete story appears in the May Vogue along with some personal pictures and a page of “Defining Moments” when he captures the changing moods of fashion. Get 2 copies. It’s most definitely a keeper. (Read excerpted interview here)
