Super Eight

March 5th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For L’Officiel Singapore‘s 8th anniversary issue Steven Klein (Art Partner) shoots eight covers featuring eight icons and modern muses. Harnessing the full potential of the coveted cast of beauties Klein produces a lustrous assemblage of fashion-noir covers. Naomi Campbell, Angela Lindvall, Guinevere Van Seenus, Liu Wen, Xiao Wen Ju, Jamie Bochert, Crystal Renn and Maria Borges each command their moments with steely perfection. Klein says of the reasoning behind the casted eight, “They are powerful, unique and know how to hold the camera.” Collaborating with fashion directors Jack Wang and Jumius Wong and stylist Patti Wilson (Streeters New York), the foursome put together a darkly, romantic spread equipped with black leather and stunning, mischievous headpieces. For each shoot, in classic Klein mode, he instigates a hushed eroticism where the models’ poses are both defiant and submissive.

With an impressive cast of top models, Sims and VP Editor in chief, Emmanuelle Alt and superstar stylist Joe McKenna (Art Partner) create an arresting showcase for the season’s key looks. Whether it is Jean Campbell displaying Junya Watanabe’s artfully sci-fi PVC dress, or current Sims muse Karolin Wolter looking effortless in Jil Sander’s luxe take on the sweatshirt, the story offers a comprehensive overview of fashion’s very best.

Just Watch!

October 10th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Liu Wen.
David Sims.
Vogue China.

The Apple Watch on the cover is getting a great deal of media attention, but don’t forget who’s selling that Céline + Apple combination and making the luxury tech piece look downright essential. November is all about Liu Wen‘s first solo Vogue China cover – the Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin anniversary issue covers were gorgeous but several other girls were featured. Liu owns the stately David Sims image with a quiet power and in the accompanying cover story she’s just as good.

Well Suited

April 28th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

WSJ continues its tradition of luxurious elegance with an impressive fashion story starring Liu Wen. Shot by Daniel Riera (Jed Root) and styled by Sara Moonves the stripped down story focuses on the season’s taste for minimal menswear influenced styles. Classic business dressing, but rendered modern via impeccable tailoring and a feminine touch that Moonves brings to her selection of crisp suits and minimalist jewelry. As always Liu Wen brings a regal dignity to every shot and manages to look alluring in even the most serious of workwear.
