Tattoo You

Fashion’s current queen of austerity is transformed into a tattooed femme fatale by the talented Shay Ashual and Lisa Butler. The film noir styling by George Cortina, coupled with a wild array of body art creates a unique new look for Ms. Strokous, while Sundsbø’s dramatic photography style provides a showcase for her posing talents. The stylized shoot offers a welcome change of pace from the usual vintage inspired edit, all while adding a hard edge to one of fashion’s most delicate beauties.

After Hours

August 9th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Just what are Saskia de Brauw and Marique Schimmel up to in Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott‘s moody Gucci-centric story for Interview? Late nights in the park, cavorting with a mysterious man (who just so happens to be Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan) dressed to the nines in Frida Gianinni‘s 70s inspired collection: it all looks glam, but just a little seedy.

Celestial Bodies

March 15th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott pay tribute to the world’s best bodies in the pages of Vogue‘s Shape Issue, with an understated editorial styled by Tonne Goodman. When you have Natalia Vodianova, Joan Smalls, Daria Werbowy, Gisele Bundchen, Raquel Zimmermann and Lara Stone all in one story, little else needs to be done so M&M tone down their signature theatrics and let the beauty of each girl and Lisa Butler‘s natural makeup shine through.
