The Dark Arts

June 14th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Though it may just be June, Fall/Winter 10 campaign images are starting to materialize. Visually, black and white or a predominant black background seems to be the preferred choice for fall (unsurprisingly) and from these four images, it looks like the handsome man is favored for the upcoming season joining the sexy girl. What’s your favorite campaign so far?

Dsquared2 F/W 10 by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Tyler Kenyon, Iris Strubegger, Alla Kostromichova .

Clement Chabernaud for Gianfranco Ferre F/W 10.

Roman Ivancic, Vladimir Ivanov, Bette Franke for Lacoste F/W 10

Jon Kortajarena, Alexa Chung, Gaspard Menier for Pepe Jeans F/W 10

Videodrome

June 10th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Nick Knight‘s Showstudio, as everyone knows, is a fashion pioneer on the web. They’ve been experimenting with fashion and video and pushing the boundaries from the beginning. The stupendous Raquel Zimmermann and her Gareth Pugh moment on the site (pictured above) may be one of our favorite model + fashion moments ever. Take a peek at some faces and videos that have caught our eye in the recent months since (click on image to view videos.). What are some of your favorite model/fashion videos?

Amber Le Bon for Test Mag channels her famous father’s pout and sultry stare and combines it with her supermodel mom Yasmin’s grace in front of the camera.

See supermodel in the making Emily DiDonato in her Acqua di Gioa commercial. Emily, first spotted here on Feed in 2008 has done so much in her mere 2 years in the biz.

abbeyvi
When else but in modern times can the average person see behind the scenes at the hallowed Meisel sets? There’s plenty of Karl Templer and Guido but sadly no Steven or Pat in VI’s April Shrink to Fit editorial.

We twittered a while ago and asked, which model do you think has the best hair? Gisele Bundchen in this video vies for the title.

Medusa or model? We love this quick clip of Allen Roth and his moving hair.

Speaking of hair check out the incredible Lily Donaldson by her dad Matthew Donaldson and hair maven Sam McKnight for Nowness. While on Nowness, take a look at Liu Wen’s video which is pretty darn gorgeous.

And last but not least Karl Lagerfeld‘s Remember Now for the recent Chanel resort show, chock full of all his favorite muses.

Image Conscious

May 18th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

W gives us an early taste of fall with Craig McDean‘s chic portfolio of the season’s must have looks. Using a cast of IMG beauties and a simple peach backdrop, McDean highlights just about every piece we loved from the F/W collections. Once again Alex White‘s styling looks phenomenal and each girl wears an ensemble that speaks to her personality; could anyone look better in that stunning Haakan dress than Karolina, who better to show off Rodarte’s ethereal spirt than Liya? See the full portfolio and the models and designer’s take on each look at W Magazine.com

Met Mavens

May 4th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

The red carpet of the Met’s Costume Institute Gala is always a scene for fashion moments and mishaps, the attendees either look incredible or completely regrettable but no matter what the outfits are memorable. This year was no exception with scores of actors, models and fashionistas turning up in their sartorial best, but who won the evening when it came to style? Did Chanel Iman’s Kors jumpsuit look refreshingly modern, or overly glittery? Was Doutzen’s Zac Posen a little too prom queen for you, or was the look perfectly sweet? Was Sasha’s beige Marni the bomb or a total bust? Tell us who you think looked the best, or the worst and take a look at the roundup of chic model looks.

In Tribute

April 19th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Steven Klein, Carine Roitfeld and Lily Donaldson turn out a couture tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, with an editorial full of unforgettable ensembles. Carine’s styling combines the best (and most dramatic) couture offerings with sexy silk stockings and sky high heels. Lily is transformed by platinum hair and jet black eyebrows created by the expert team of hairstylist Paul Hanlon and makeup aritst Stephane Marais.

March 23rd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

When Steven Klein and Carine Roitfeld join forces, the story is always memorable, the duo enlists Lily Donaldson and Jac Jagaciak for a high octane story for Vogue Paris. Every element is pushed to the limit: from the wild, patterned ensembles the girls wear, to the over the top orange spray tans – it all works together to create an unforgettable fashion experience.
