Oscar’s Attitude!

August 4th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Oscar de la Renta is known for his sophisticated designs, but don’t ever accuse the legendary designer of being boring! Fall finds de la Renta’s brand in an irreverent mood, showcasing the sumptuous fall/winter collection in images by Norman Jean Roy that run the gamut from simply elegant to downright cheeky. Diana Moldovan and Larissa Hofmann are equally alluring in their shots, sporting pin straight hair by Orlando Pita and bright smoky shadow by Gucci Westman. Stylist Natasha Royt plays up the collection’s decadence, focusing on fur embellished and richly detailed looks in bold jewel tones. The best shots are the ones that offer up an added storyline via playful tableaus like Diana stepping on the train of Larissa’s crimson gown.

The season’s vibrant pieces come to life in Victor Demarchelier (Management + Artists)’s sporty Vogue Japan story filled with fresh faces. Riley Montana, Larissa Hofmann and Emma Waldo pose in colorful looks from Proenza Schouler, Moschino and Acne Studios chosen by stylist Aurora Sansone. The unique combinations take the familiar runway pieces and imbue them with a sporty girlishness that makes them feel new – even the oft used Dior lace-up dress gets a new lease on life when paired with a puffy Eugenia Kim hat.
