Easy Breezy

May 19th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Lachlan Bailey puts us in the mood for summer with an engaging story for Vogue China. Styled by Melanie Huynh and featuring pieces from Givenchy, Dior and Balenciaga, the editorial takes high end looks and gives them a casual spin. Shu Pei and Hailey Clauson wear the looks perfectly and turn the sidewalks into runways: both girls look completely at ease as the wind whips through their hair.

More Is More

October 20th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

After seasons of perfecting minimalism, it seems fashion’s foremost stylists have taken an interest in the exact opposite. Fall’s fashion glossies are filled with layered looks that explode off the page with print, pattern and texture. There is nothing subtle about a Lanvin fur worn over lace tights, or the melange of sequins and colors, but you can’t deny that the combinations are eye-catching. Do you like the maximalist look or do you prefer your fashions a bit more subdued? Let us know in the comments.

Karlie Kloss shows her sexy side in the latest Numero, the willowy beauty poses for Lachlan Bailey in a series of revealing ensembles chosen by stylist Franck Benhamou. While Karlie is typically the poster child for fresh faced, all American sweetness, these photos show a sensual and powerful aspect of her persona. This begs the question – do you like Miss Kloss naughty or nice?

Silver Lining

November 13th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Makeup is an important element of every editorial, but there are some stories where the cosmetic artistry is especially eye-catching. The metallic looks on Du Juan created by makeup artist, Ozzy Salvatierra and photographed by Lachlan Bailey in the latest Vogue China, are great example of unconventional yet beautiful makeup. Du always looks pristine, but the mix of silver textures on her skin gives her an otherworldly glow. It is always nice to see a classic beauty wearing a look that is futuristic and edgy.
