Double Vision : Alexander Wang

November 15th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

As fashion’s current king of downtown cool, Alexander Wang has perfected a look that is both eye-catching and easy going. It isn’t unusual to see Wang’s wares popping up in fashion glossies month after month, but it is interesting to see how his look is interpreted by a variety of talents. One of last season’s most memorable and popular Wang pieces was the fishnet turtleneck, a statement item that adds a touch a mystery to any ensemble. Most stylists didn’t stray too far from the runway vision of this particular look, but every so often the versatility of this staple was showcased via a well-timed change of pace. With the addition of the equally ubiquitous Jil Sander pink overcoat, or a bit of menswear inspired Paul & Joe, the mood shifts completely. That said, the Wang turtleneck looks just as good all by itself, revealing a touch of come-hither skin or adding another layer of sexy to a pop star’s daring repertoire.

Color Schemes

August 16th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Harper’s Bazaar‘s latest story is a decidedly on trend take on the season’s shapely separates in the very boldest colors. Shot by Paola Kudacki and styled by Tony Irvine, the story features a variety of striking pieces on Kendra Spears, in tones that pop against the white background. Natural makeup by Lisa Houghton and sleek hair by Kevin Ryan complete the minimal chic look.

Que Linda

March 9th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Though the epic model moments of the 90s can never be duplicated, it doesn’t hurt to see a little tribute every now and then. Muse Magazine enlists Mariano Vivanco to shoot two of today’s premier beauties in an alluring edit that aims to capture the spirit of Linda Evangelista and her effervescent personality. Kendra Spears and Toni Garrn star as the kind of runway divas of the highest order, while Beth Fenton provides a wardrobe of sexy looks that scream supermodel. The retro vibe is accentuated by Billy B‘s eyeliner and nude lip centric recreation of the mid 90s beauty look du jour and Ashley Javier‘s Evangelista-esque coifs.

Muse Magazine never fails to excite with its combination of striking fashion editorials and compelling interviews and the latest issue is no exception. Inside you’ll find even more variety with a host of gorgeous new visuals – a few of which you’ll find right here in our preview.

Slither In

April 7th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Sean and Seng capture Kendra Spears at her most bewitching for Numero. Clad in seductive designs chosen by stylist, Franck Benhamou and accompanied by a deadly serpent, Kendra shows a darker and sexier side than what we’ve seen from her before. The sultry shots manage to convey sensuality while creating an atmosphere that showcases the barely there ensembles perfectly.
