Lately it seems like everyone has an opinion on Kate Upton and usually it is a strong one. There are those who say she’s bringing classic curvaceousness back to fashion, those who find her nouveau-pinup schtick grating and of course there are her legions of adoring fans. Fortunately, the only opinions that matter at the end of the day are those of the photographers, stylists and editors who keep falling under her spell. The latest Uptonite is of course Steven Meisel, a man who knows a thing or two about what makes a model great. Meisel features Kate’s ample charms in the latest issues of Vogue Italia and American Vogue, a feat that would be a coup for any model, but for Upton it takes on a special signifigance. Love her or hate her she’s sticking around and is going to be a part of some beautiful imagery.

Speaking controversial Kates, the one and only Kate Moss surfaces on the cover of Vanity Fair looking resplendent in new shots from Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. It is rare for VF to feature living celebrities on their covers, but that is a testament to Moss’ enduring crossover appeal – even those with no interest in fashion know the legend and mystique that is Kate. Odds are that many of those same people will be lining up to find out more about Miss Moss when her autobiography / picture tome hits bookstores. Kate has always maintained an air of mystery (this is the woman who famously gave one word answers in a post-scandal interview) but she sets the record straight on certain subjects in VF, which makes this a must read.
