Studio Vogue

January 26th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

No one takes a picture quite like David Sims, his vision is equal parts futuristic and classical, with a surrealist polish that makes each image stand out. Who better then to reimagine the collections editorial for Vogue Paris? With an impressive cast of top models, Sims and VP Editor in chief, Emmanuelle Alt and superstar stylist Joe McKenna (Art Partner) create an arresting showcase for the season’s key looks. Whether it is Jean Campbell displaying Junya Watanabe’s artfully sci-fi PVC dress, or current Sims muse Karolin Wolter looking effortless in Jil Sander’s luxe take on the sweatshirt, the story offers a comprehensive overview of fashion’s very best.

McQueen’s Majesty

January 20th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

Alexander McQueen‘s seasonal ads always push the boundary between art and commerce and for spring the brand enters new territory with a David Sims helmed campaign featuring Karolin Wolter. Sarah Burton‘s spring collection was heavily influenced by Japanese culture and that vibe is subtlety reinforced in Sims’ imagery. The red lips and pencil thin brows worn with aplomb by Wolter provide an added touch of retro-drama to the already striking photos.

Clean Slate

January 8th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

If anyone can bring out the elegance in an editorial it is Patrick Demarchelier and in the latest British Vogue he creates a masterful story with stylist, Lucinda Chambers (Art Partner). Utilizing a restrained color palette of white, tan and cream and a cast of models of all ages Demarchelier (Anne Catherine LacroixKarolin WolterKat HessenKim PeersKirsten Owen & Vivien Solari) creates a minimalist story with a refined mood. With their stark ensembles and bleached colors some of the shots seem contemporary, while others channel classical art with models providing stately poses fit for Vermeer.

Girl Boy Girl

July 15th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Admit it, studio shoots can get a little tedious, even the most energetic model can only jump so high and rarely is a plain background inspirational. There are of course exceptions to the rule – sometimes all you need are the right pairing of photographer, model and stylist to make an editorial shine. This month’s Bazaar teams up Karolin Wolter‘s effortless chic, Terry Tsiolis attention to detail and Brana Wolf‘s expert styling to create a story that focuses on the power of the clothes themselves. With her lithe figure and edgy crop, everything looks good on Karolin but the tomboy chic ensembles she sports in this story make her look even cooler than usual.

Reflections

June 19th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

It takes a special girl to look good from all angles and Karolin Wolter is just that sort of gal. In the striking campaign for Gianfranco Ferre three versions of Ms. Wolter pose in the house’s dramatic fall fashions. Stefano Moro Van Wyk‘s stark black and white campaign shot is refined and effective and Karolin’s unforgettable face makes a lasting impression.

Opposing Viewpoints

June 18th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Meghan Collison & Karolin Wolter are perfectly paired in Vogue Russia. Miguel Reveriego shoots the duo as polar opposites – Meghan looks sleek, sporting an edgy flip in her signature bangs while Karolin wears a fluffy wig that looks lighter than a cloud. The out of this world hair courtesy of Peter Gay only accentuates the appeal of both girls as they pose in a selection of the season’s best.

Karolin Wolter is sitting pretty for Vogue Nippon. The lithe German beauty possess an elegance beyond her years and she puts it to good use as Nathaniel Goldberg‘s watchful eye captures everything. Dressed in classic shapes chosen by stylist Marie Chaix, Karolin calls to mind the seamless refinement of yesteryear.
