Split Personalities

October 13th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Max Vadukul and stylist Nicoletta Santoro show two different sides of Patricia van der Vliet and Karlie Kloss for November’s Vogue China. On the cover the girls are a picture of sweetness in coordinating looks from Vuitton, but their editorial tells a very different story; dressed in shades of red and sporting long wigs, Karlie and Patricia play vixens. Which look do you prefer – sweet or sexy? Let us know in the comments!

Seasonal Luxuries

June 30th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Each fashion house has a different vision of luxury and nowhere is it more evident than in their fall / winter ad campaigns. For Armani, the season’s look is all about elegance and classic refinement, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott‘s image of Edita Vilkeviciute in scarlet is the perfect representation of that.

YSL offers another take on refinement with its cool Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed campaign featuring Daria Werbowy. Sporting a jet black bob and lots of eyeliner, Daria looks oh so chic and slightly mod.

Dior offers up the wildest variant of luxe with Karlie Kloss looking positively bohemian in a shot by Steven Meisel, the wild hair and eclectic ensemble look incredible on Karlie and capture the spirit of Galliano’s spirited collection.

Which ad is your favorite? Let us know!

Fall continues its parade of campaigns with some of our favorite faces fronting Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Donna Karan, St. John. “The Lady” is back, groups are still in, Karen Elson is more popular than ever and the dark, moody sets look to be a fall mainstay. What campaign stops you in your tracks?

And The Nominees Are…

June 2nd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

With the CFDA awards right around the corner, the tension is mounting. Who will win? Who will lose? What will they wear? The answers to all these questions will be revealed Monday night, but in the meantime the annual nominees portfolio only adds to the excitement. Shot by Solve Sundsbo and styled by Lori Goldstein, the images feature designers posing alongside models who represent the look of their brand; Jason Wu stands in awe of the statuesque Karlie Kloss, wearing one of his elegant fall creations, while Prabal Gurung lounges with Heidi Mount. Marc Jacobs may have missed the photoshoot but with a team of models led by Jacquelyn Jablonski and Paul Boche, wearing masks of the designer’s face you hardly notice his absence, Trey Laird‘s inventive creative direction, really makes these images shine.

Met Mavens

May 4th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

The red carpet of the Met’s Costume Institute Gala is always a scene for fashion moments and mishaps, the attendees either look incredible or completely regrettable but no matter what the outfits are memorable. This year was no exception with scores of actors, models and fashionistas turning up in their sartorial best, but who won the evening when it came to style? Did Chanel Iman’s Kors jumpsuit look refreshingly modern, or overly glittery? Was Doutzen’s Zac Posen a little too prom queen for you, or was the look perfectly sweet? Was Sasha’s beige Marni the bomb or a total bust? Tell us who you think looked the best, or the worst and take a look at the roundup of chic model looks.

Glamour Age

April 13th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

David Sims pulls out all the stops for Vogue’s tribute to American style through the ages. Tonne Goodman‘s styles as Sims touches on several glamorous constructs of American dressing – from Raquel Zimmermann as an electric diva of the screen, to Chanel Iman as a happy-go-lucky flapper or Karlie Kloss and Frida Gustavsson as socialites, each girl is styled to perfection and just right for her theme.

High Kloss

March 29th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Karlie Kloss shows her sexy side in the latest Numero, the willowy beauty poses for Lachlan Bailey in a series of revealing ensembles chosen by stylist Franck Benhamou. While Karlie is typically the poster child for fresh faced, all American sweetness, these photos show a sensual and powerful aspect of her persona. This begs the question – do you like Miss Kloss naughty or nice?
