Anna’s Era

February 2nd, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

Anna Cleveland by Michael Avedon / Image Courtesy CR Fashion Book

As daughter of one of modeling’s legends, Anna Cleveland has always had a place within the world of fashion, but this year the gamine beauty has come into her own with work that raises the bar. You’ll find Anna in the pages of CR Fashion Book, Lanvin‘s latest campaign and on the couture runways for designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Elie Saab. In an exclusive letter in CR Fashion book, Anna opens up on building her fashion family, working with Carine Roitfeld and her current career high – read the full letter at CR Fashion

On her generation of models: I like to call everyone that I encounter on the same wavelength a ‘fashion family.’ Just like my mother had one with Karl Lagerfield, Yves Saint Laurent, Antonio Lopez, and Andy Warhol. Now I’m finally seeing my group fall into place. It’s the best thing to be surrounded by so many people that have such large input in the fashion world, and to absorb every minute of it, like a sponge, with delight, giving everything you can in the moment to create an image of art.

On the fashion industry: Fashion is a way of life. Clothing can make you feel a certain way, and all I want is to give people that feeling. I am very proud to be part of this world.

On working with Carine: I remember my first editorial. It was with CR [Carine Roitfeld] for French Vogue, at 11 or 12 years old. I was, at the time, the youngest girl ever to pose for a 13-page story. At that age, I thought that I was ready to conquer the world and my dreams; flying to Paris for a fashion shoot was just a part of that fantasy. I thought that I was all grown up and tough. In reality, I was far from it at that time.

Chanel’s Belle

January 8th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

To say Karl Lagerfeld is fond of Gisele Bundchen is something of an understatement. Over the past year the supermodel has become the face of everything Chanel from beauty products, to the classic No. 5. Given this mutual affection and Bundchen’s role in the brand’s now iconic “protest march” fashion show, it seems fitting to see Gisele as the face of the line’s spring campaign. Shot by Karl as always the ads depict a barefoot and beautiful Bundchen on freewheeling through the streets of Paris. Armed with a folded newspaper, crochet bindle and layers of Chanel (naturally) Gisele cuts a fine figure.
