See Inside: Let’s Panic Issue 2

July 20th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Straddling the margins between art and fashion, Issue 2 of Let’s Panic Magazine is trickling into stands in the U.S.A. now and Europe to follow.  The large format, in-your-face magazine, the project of photographer Greg Kadel, is a collection of inspired editorials, hued from the bold and experimental to the indulgent to the introspective. The thoughtful list of creators and contributors is worthy of praise – Boo George, Mario Sorrenti, Jeff Bark, Jennifer Starr, Judy Blame and Mark Lebon to name a few. On that note, Editor in Chief, Aaron Ward writes, “Of all the steps taken in the creation of an issue of Let’s Panic, the one we most enjoy is the exploratory stage, the part where meetings and conversations introduce us to new people, novel ideas and undiscovered creative twists.”

Inside the magazine, Greg Kadel photographs Jac Jagaciak for a vivid, varicolored beauty story. Shot through water that shifts the light, beauty team Fulvia Farolfi and Nicolas Jurnjack  produce gorgeous tides of blues, rouges and yellows. Editor-slash-photographer Aaron Ward abstractly shoots a model pressed against a pane of glass, to the effect of leaves pressed in a book.  Other editorials breathe life into archival images, like the cover image from Mario Sorrenti’s black-and-white, road trip portraits or casting director Jennifer Starr’s multitude of polaroids.

Bruce Weber, Nan Bush, Kelly Klein, Jennifer Starr along with the iconic Tyson Beckford and the beautiful Sports Illustrated Cover star, Brooklyn Decker will be together on April 28th in support of The Last Chance Animal Rescue Fund and the Amaryllis Equine Rescue. Come to the fundraiser/silent auction, which brings together some of the biggest names in fashion and help our furry friends. If you can’t attend, click here to donate.

Modeling info:

First Lara Stone for Calvin Klein, now Alessandra Ambrosio for Moschino by Ines & Vinoodh. Sexy is most assuredly back for fall.

We’re also excited that Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa has done away with using size zero models. It’s about time fashion at its highest level pushed for healthier looks and practices.

Oh too cute: Imogen Morris-Clarke has a new blog with a pic of herself as a child.

Here’s Agyness Deynin the trailer of her new film with Linus Roache. She looks damn gorgeous.

Eva Herzigova, mommy and supermodel is interviewed by Elle Magazine.

Gorgeous Brazilian male model, Diogo, what else is new?

Vogue likes new face Barbara Palvin, we do too!

Kate Moss + Mario Testino = new Taschen book on our must have list.

Ryan Kennedy is back with his second interview for this fashion fan.

If you’re from the US, go to Factor Women’s website to find out about their modelsearch. It goes through May.

Miscellaneous:

Here’s 2 items I’m obsessing over, these Vivienne Westwood for Lee jeans, and this leather jacket. I bet Freja Beha would like the jacket :)

V Man’s new issue is out and it’s chockfull of fantastic new shoots including that infamous Shrek shoot that Dreamworks is regretting. We love it!

Congrats Danny (of Igor & Andre) for making it to Teen Vogue! May all your other fashion dreams come true.

Many attended Anna Wintour’s tribute to Irving Penn at Pratt Institute but we especially love Fashionista’s report that shows even Ms Nuclear Wintour can be touched by the legend’s greatness.

Asian Americans in the fashion industry! Some of our favorite people will be here including Phillip Lim and iconic model Jenny Shimizu.

One of our favorite stylists, Nicola Formichetti is featured on the Cut.

We’re all for more inclusiveness (British Vogue’s Alexander Schulman tackles the size 0 problem). Here’s Jezebel’s interesting take on it.

Here’s another interview for the Brazilian fans.. the very lovely Izabel Goulart.

Funny, funny, funny; French Vogue is “anti-pants” so says Jezebel.

There’s a new documentary coming out about Brazilian models. Though sadly it’s in Portugese only, who cares when you can look the gorgeous Gisele Bundchen, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana, Caroline Trentini, Adriana Lima and Caroline Ribeiro emote in their native language. (Take a peek at rarely seen Cyril Brule, owner of Viva and Marilyn Gauthier, owner of Marilyn’s and photographer Peter Beard).

If you don’t know JD Ferguson‘s background, read about the model/photographer/general man about town and his fun times with Karl Lagerfeld and the top models.

Sans Artifice is a fan of photographer Norman Jean Roy,  he “brings out the Vogue ethos“.

New Dutch model agency to watch! Modelution is featured on the Ones2Watch.
Continuing in the same vein as Sarah Ziff in Picture Me, Frockwriter explores the dark side of the industry.
Gisele AND Jesus on the same runway…. The Brazilians are buzzing about the Colcci show.

If you’re in Chicago, Wednesday June 24th, go meet Elite Chicago’s scouts (click on the link for age and height requirements).

Home of Johanna Knepper (hot new face of Givenchy show this past spring), Just WM Paris has a  new blog!

Terry shooting the 11 beauties;  Eniko Mihalik, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Daisy Lowe, Gracie Carvalho, Marloes Horst, Lily Cole, Ana Beatriz Barros, Miranda Kerr, Georgina Stojiljkovic.

Casting Director Jenn Starr

Jennifer Starr is indeed a “star” in the business. MDC’s known her for a long time and she is truly a classy lady and so talented at her craft. Read James from Women’s interview with Jennifer.
