All-Star Spring

March 13th, 2014 |Posted by Matthew

Gunning for April 2014 with a head start, Vogue Japan dives into its Art of Style issue with 10 top models in one fabulous edit. Luigi & Daniele + Iango shoot Karmen Pedaru, Hilary Rhoda, and several more in a celebration of beauty and glamour that’s bound to amaze. Giovanna Battaglia brings her signature eye for color in styling this megawatt shoot, exemplifying that “Style Has Many Faces.” Some of those faces include Liu Wen inPrada, Nadja Bender in Tom Ford, and Elisabeth Erm in Givenchy. Overwhelming abundance seems to be in full bloom this spring, and this glamorous series—rounded out by Julia Stegner, Jeneil Williams, Lily Donaldson, Natasa Vojnovic and Catherine McNeil—might be the best one yet.

Oyster Magazine has always looked towards the unexpected in fashion, but with its latest issue the magazine offers up a raw take on the fashionable moments beyond the internet. With #103: The Hang Out In Real Life Issue, Oyster takes it to the streets to capture the new reality of youth culture, enlisting music stars Frank Ocean and Iggy Azelea in the process and capturing the nuances of what is relevant now. Garden of Delights

August 27th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Julia Noni creates an atmospheric story for Vogue Germany‘s September issue, creating images filled with color, life and artistry. Jeneil Williams stars in Noni’s arresting images wearing a mix of seasonal knitwear selected by stylist Kathrin Schiffner, offering a taste of fall’s practical staples but giving them an ethereal twist. As always Jeneil brings power and sensuality to each image she appears in and Noni’s richly saturated style pops right off the page.

Behind the Scenes: Kenzo

October 9th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Paris fashion week was filled with beautiful moments du jour, but none were quite as cool as KENZO‘s safari chic collection. Filled with references to the original ‘Jungle Jap’ store, started by founder Kenzo Takada and an offbeat eclecticism that looked great on the runway, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim pulled off one of the season’s most inventive showings. Experience what it was like behind the scenes with this incredible video that takes you backstage and into the front row. Enjoy the incredible girls – Fei Fei Sun, Irina Nikolaeva, Ming Xi, Liu Wen, Jeneil Williams, Caroline Brasch Nielsen – the list goes on, the incredible makeup by Yadim and of course the clothes. You’ll feel like you’re right there enjoying a cookie in the front row!

A Taste of the Tropics

August 10th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

September’s Elle, is one of the best we’ve seen from the magazine in awhile and were particularly in love with Laurie Bartley‘s glamour filled story featuring Jeneil Williams. Shot at St. Lucia’s luxe Anse Chastanet resort and filled to the brim with designer goodies from Tom Ford, Gucci and Chloe, the story presents the ultimate getaway. As always, Jeneil is a vision of regal poise and dressed in cat-eye sunglasses and bold color she looks even chicer than usual.

Step It Up!

February 28th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Jerry Hall by Sølve Sundsbø

Fashion and fun are two words that should go together, yet most magazines fail to realize it and that is where Ponystep comes in. Launching during Paris fashion week, the biannual aims to bring the glee back to the pages of magazines where it belongs! Editor in chief Richard Mortimer launched the publication as a website two years ago, but March brings their first print edition. With contributors ranging from Solve Sundsbo, Dan Jackson, Ben Weller, Juergen Teller, Julie Verhoeven and Tim Blanks, you can see why we’re very excited for this one! MDC spoke to Ponystep fashion director, Phoebe Arnold, for a glimpse of all the magazine has to offer.

Daniel Jackson

MDC: How long has ponystep been around and what issue is this?

This is the first issue of Ponystep in print. Ponystep started as an online magazine nearly three years ago, though we haven’t done anything on it for the last six months, we’ve been too busy working on this issue! The website will be relaunching imminently though…

Terry Tsiolis

MDC: Where did the name come from?

It’s a very long and drunken story. It all started out as a bit of a joke and we’ve been stuck with it ever since! It’s quite good though, don’t you think?

Jeneil Williams by Ben Weller

MDC: Why did you choose the models for this cover?

It’s the inspiration issue, and both Kylie Minogue and Jerry Hall are completely inspirational. Actually that’s just an excuse, it was sheer self-indulgence, we just love them.

Hannelore Knuts by Paul Wetherell

MDC: What do you hope to offer that sets you apart from other mags?

We want to make fashion fun again. It’s uncompromising, but still accessible to everybody.

Ponystep launches during Paris Fashion week with a party in collaboration with MAC Cosmetics
