Stella Lucia steps into the Office

September 14th, 2015 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

Office Magazine‘s issue 03 offering is all about the it-factor. Newly listed Top 50 model Stella Lucia is set in the Doldrums but far from dull in this editorial shot by Nicole Maria Winkler. Styled by Jack Borkett, the offhand vibe of selects from Alexander Wang, Dior, Versace, and Stella McCartney create an compelling setting for the in-demand model to flourish in. With beauty looks curated by Yumi Nakada-Dingle and Lucy Burt, the pouty visage of Stella is framed angelically with failing ringlets and graphically painted lids.

Check out the editorial spread below and see the new issue out on select newsstands now!

Industrie Darlings

June 2nd, 2015 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

Power is the focus for the latest issue of Industrie Magazine. The bi-annual publication is dedicated to the hard working, creative and business veterans that run the fashion industry and gives a peek into their environments, whether they be conventional offices or atypical settings. For their eighth issue, cover star Edward Enninful poses along side friend and muse Naomi Campbell for photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and gives an exquisite retrospective on his 25-year long career of producing beautiful imagery for books like i-D Magazine, Vogue Italia, and W Magazine. The inside interview includes never-before-seen printed Polaroids from a time long before social media and quotes from colleagues and friends in the business.

Also inside the issue, top model favorite Anna Ewers is interviewed by her number one champion, Alexander Wang, where she talks about her burgeoning career and her first jobs as a teen studying abroad in Colombia. Shot by Erik Torstensson, the pouty, German beauty is visually stripped down for an introspective look at what makes her alluring to the masses. Take a look at our exclusive preview of the issue, available now on newsstands in the UK and June 29th in the US.

She Is Nilotic

April 2nd, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

i-D Magazine‘s Activists Issue features Gen Z-ers who are hard at work installing the cogs of social change. Included in that list is Models.com’s Humanitarian Model of the Year nominee Nykhor Paul. Leaving behind the civil turmoil of South Sudan and sadly, her family as well, she emigrated to the United States in 1998. By 2008 Nykhor was in New York City to pursue modeling. With her career budding into a full-fledged success she set up the foundation We Are Nilotic -meaning the people of the Nile- the purpose of which is to unify the 64 tribes of South Sudan. She’s also become the voice of the International Rescue Committee (alongside John Legend and Rashida Jones) to raise awareness to the plight of those displaced from their conflicted young country. Check out her inspirational interview along with many others, only in i-D’s Spring 2105 issue!

Unconventional

December 2nd, 2014 |Posted by jonathan

Art and fashion are ever more closely intertwined in the latest issue of Noon, the upstart British biannual whose new edition is out now in collaboration with London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts. Alasdair McLellan (Art Partner)’s cover shot of a luminous, glowing, cloud-covered sky helps set the tone for a publication that promises a strong aesthetic and creative vision that goes above and beyond the standard glossy—even as the accompanying story within satisfies the fashion set with superstars Lara Stone and Simon Nessman. Mel Bles (London: D + V Management , New York: D + V Management) shoots a passel of unconventional looks by Jack Borkett, while Charlie Engman manipulates his urbane images of Esther De Jong in a feature styled by Lyson Marchessault. Lyson also works with Janneke Van der Hagen in a serene outdoor portfolio. The art edge shines through in a series of writings and artist portfolios, from Robi Rodriguez’s tender portraits to Lorenzo Vitturi’s iconoclastic still lifes. Take a look at our exclusive preview below of the new issue, now available at stockists and at N-o-o-n.co.uk.

Painted Precision

June 3rd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench goes experimental in an edgy i-D Magazine story by Nick Dorey (New York: D + V Management, London: D + V Management ). Most makeup stories keep things classic, but i-D isn’t the typical publication and the magazine’s commitment to full-force creativity is evident here. Juliana Schurig and Carla Ciffoni serve as the canvas for Ffrench’s abstract creations and both beauties gamely take on the extreme cosmetic creations, from a full face of silver that looks airbrushed on, to swirling stripes of black and orange. Jack Borkett adds in expert styling, working in looks from Topshop and Christopher Kane to add to the editorial’s cool factor.
