Interview Russia’s October issue is full of fall fashion and here we have an exclusive preview of Chad Pitman‘s story, Neo-Grunge, with Hot List face, Miles Langford. The raw editorial, shot at Dead Horse Bay -an abandoned New York beach- features the tattooed model, sans hair and makeup, in two of Chad and stylist Gro Curtis‘s favorite fall/winter 13 collections: Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane and Yohji Yamamoto. Our favorite dynamic duo reunites for an elegant black and white set by Mert & Marcus. Every time Naomi and Kate pair up the end result is an instantly iconic shot and this is no exception. Are you feeling the controversial covers?
Before she became an editor atInterview Russia, Naomi tried her hand at a music career with the release of her 1994 album, Babywoman. On the album Naomi covers Donna Summer’s classic All Through the Night and she sounds pretty damn good. The album wasn’t exactly a smash hit and Naomi hasn’t released another since, but we’ll always have this and of course the video for Love & Tears.
Who can forget this masterpiece of modern reality television and autotune. Not only did Tyra record a song, she managed to make the video’s creation a subplot on America’s Next Top Model. For the non-moguls out there that is what they call they call multi-tasking!
When she isn’t posing for campaigns or fighting zombies (or both – there are moments when those situations mix) Milla J is busy making music. Her album The Divine Comedy – also released in 1994, clearly the peak year for supermodel album sales – was praised by critics. Though she hasn’t come out with a full album since, Milla frequently releases MP3s on her website.
We’ve been curious about Interview Russia since we saw that artfully done Leo DiCaprio cover and now we finally get a peek inside. Steven Pan‘s atmospheric story features Kelly Mittendorf andPatricia van der Vliet as women of mystery in what might be the world’s poshest library. Sporting big jewels, sleek hair and bold looks from the likes of Prada & Yves Saint Laurent, both girls look phenomenal. Pan only hints at what the secret behind the come hither looks, but we’re intrigued all the same.
It is one thing to appear on the cover of a magazine and quite another to shape its vision from within. The always versatile Naomi Campbell moves into a new role as Editor at Large of the newly launched Interview Russia & the upcoming Interview Germany. Her column will be revealed in the first issue of Interview Russia, set to hit newsstands November 25th. The magazine debuts with a bang, Leonardo Dicaprio on the cover, Aliona Doletskaya at the helm and nearly 300 pages bursting with fresh content from the worlds of art, cinema and of course fashion.
Here’s what Ms. Campbell herself had to say about the experience. “Being an Editor at Large is a new role for me and I’m very happy to be involved with such a prestigious magazine and one that I’ve worked with over the years.
