Youth and Masculinity

February 1st, 2014 |Posted by jonathanshia

When photographer Ian Cole founded CLIENT Magazine in late 2010, his mission was to “use a fashion dialogue to explore youth and masculinity” through rich, authentic black-and-white photography, idiosyncratic styling, and the industry’s top and up and coming faces. Now the publication has graduated from newsprint to perfect-bound paperbacks, and publishes four times a year, with the latest issue celebrating the consistently intriguing magazine’s third anniversary. A trio of covers offer the choice between the established and the brand-new, with the fantastic Ben Allen photographed by Cole himself on one, a grinning Charlie James—his mouth still full of braces—by Anna Victoria Best on another and a pensive Dominik Sadoch by Matt Lambert on the 3rd. Inside, Reece Sanders takes a quiet, contemplative turn in Charlotte Hadden’s editorial, while Emmanuel Giraud‘s New Madison portfolio showcases classic faces like Arran Sly, Alexandre CunhaNathaniel Visser and Tom Webb. Stories by Sam Scott Schiavo and Jeremy Kost help round out the issue, which marks a confident step forward in Client’s continuing evolution.

Beauty Rebel

August 20th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

We love a magazine with a distinctive point of view and brand new biannual Beauty Rebel, is as distinctive as it gets. With a focus on all things beauty and the endless allure of cosmetics, stunning makeup and amazing hair, the glossy rejects overly photoshopped imagery in favor of the glamour of the 70s, 80s and even the 90s supermodel era. Who better to appear on the cover than ultimate fashion rebel, Daphne Guinness, who pays tribute to another legend, the late, great Hedy Lamarr.

Inside an array of beauty centric content from behind the scenes shots of top models, to fresh editorials featuring inventive hair and makeup is certain to delight.

Client #1

July 9th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Patrick Kafka by Sam Scott Schiavo Client #1, Summer 2010.

Who says print is dead? Joining the busy visual landscape is CLIENT, the new project from the team at Supplementaire. CLIENT focuses on “male models, lads and menswear” combining beautiful imagery with a slightly irreverent, tongue in cheek view of the world. 150 pages, only in black and white, Client ships at the end of July. Even better, Client will have teaser pages available online at Other Edition to entice you into its world. Editor in chief Ian Cole describes it as “an old grainy scrapbook with an exploration on youth and masculinity”. Gorgeous young men with clothes and without? We’re so there.

Check out the CLIENT site now.
