Gucci’s Girls

July 3rd, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Gucci has always had a clear understanding of its ideal woman and each season it picks a cast that reflects that ethos. This time around Frida Gianinni and co. take things one step further with a campaign featuring seven top models who exemplify the modern Gucci woman. Anja Rubik, Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Nadja Bender, Suvi Koponen, Karmen Pedaru and Natasha Poly  feature in stylized shots by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. (Art Partner) In a season filled with high concept campaigns it’s refreshing to see ads where the clothes and the girls are at the forefront. The collection’s pastel tones and ultra-luxe accessories are front and center in the simple studio shots that make every item look like a must have.

Sense of Midnight

April 25th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

In most metallic themed editorials the reflective shades are depicted as bold and bright, bursting off the page but Sean and Seng (Management + Artists) offer up a fresh take on the seasons shimmering pieces in the pages Vogue Japan. Focusing on the subtle glimmer of fabric as viewed beneath moonlight, the duo along with stylist Sissy Vian (Management + Artists) capture decadent looks from Dior, Proenza Schouler, Gucci and Haider Ackermann beneath the pale moonlight in a rowboat set adrift in murky waters. Karmen Pedaru plays the role of siren admirably, wearing each look with ease even as a serpent coils around her body.

Mix + Match

April 1st, 2014 |Posted by Matthew

In fashion, a little daring goes a long way. Such is the case in this artful shoot from Jamie Hawkesworth, who brings his trademark eye for stark yet striking imagery to the pages of W’s April 2014 issue. Featuring Marine Deleeuw, Ashleigh Good, Harleth Kuusik, and Linn Arvidsson, Hawkesworth’s latest demonstrates the undeniable cool of fashion-forward contrasts. Combining Phoebe Philo’s Céline brushstrokes and Raf Simons’ “Trans Dior” prints with pieces by Gucci, Max Mara, and Vera Wang, Marie-Amélie Sauvé’s dynamic styling speaks for itself.

Anja Provocateur

March 27th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

If there were an award for boldness in modeling, Anja Rubik would win it time and time again. The fearless model / magazine editor  and occasional music video star has taken her  “do not fear the nipple” mantra to the streets and and it’s made for some gorgeous editorial moments of late. Rubik’s complete ease with herself is enviable and it makes her a compelling cover subject – on the frontpage of Lui Magazine  she captures the sensuality of Emmanuelle in a sumptuous black and white by Mario Sorrenti (Art Partner). On Vogue Russia Anja shows a seductive hint of skin in a Gucci jumpsuit in Patrick Demarchelier cover shot – highlighting the ensemble’s sexy side and looking flawless in the process.

Ray of Light

February 20th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

The sands of the suburban Southwest are given a high fashion touch in the new issue of Elle with a striking editorial that showcases some of the best in reflective fashions. Laurie Bartley (Paris: Management + Artists, New York: Management + Artists) shoots Lakshmi Menon looking chic in sparkling pieces from Proenza SchoulerGivenchyGucci and more selected by stylist  Samira Nasr. (Paris: Management + Artists, New York: Management + Artists) The location’s faded neutral tones make the pieces pop, especially when the sun catches some of the monochromatic metallic ensembles giving them a liquid metal look. With her newly cropped hair and powerful gaze Lakshmi brings a strength to every shot, even when she’s wearing little more than strategically placed gold flakes.

CHLOE

It’s been a few seasons since Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin helmed the Chloe campaign, but the duo doesn’t miss a beat. With Lou Doillon and Julia Stegner front and center in summery images filled with floaty minidresses and espadrilles, Inez and Vinoodh perfectly capture the laid back look & feel that defines Chloe.

Solaire

November 22nd, 2013 |Posted by victoria

Txema Yeste captures Martha Hunt with his extraordinary artistic technique in the latest issue of Numéro Magazine. Perfectly styled by Franck Benhamou, Hunt looks absolutely radiant in ‘Solaire’, along with her impeccable bone structure highlighted throughout the editorial. Also, the heavy winged eye makeup and famed feathered Gucci dress leaves us to believe there may have been some ‘Black Swan’ inspiration behind this stunning shoot.
