Taoism

September 22nd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Tao Okamoto has always been something special but she moves into the stratosphere with the November edition of Vogue Nippon. With the special all-Tao issue she joins the selective ranks of models major enough to single-handedly command an entire Vogue. Add to this the fact that this is the first time the publication has ever featured an Asian model in this way (Tao is the first Japanese face to grace the cover of Vogue Nippon in nearly a decade) and you have the makings of a moment that transcends fashion. This is a must have issue – inside you’ll find Tao as imagined by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Glen Luchford, Daniel Jackson, Mark Segal and Solve Sundsbo, each photographer portrays her in a different light and each picture shows just what a versatile and dynamic model she truly is.

Lanvin’s Ladies

April 29th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Stephanie Seymour leads an illustrious group of models in paying tribute to designer Alber Elbaz. In the latest edition of Interview, Mrs. Brant wears Alber’s elegantly feminine designs in a New York hotel room while Magdalena Frackowiak shows his wares in on the streets of Paris. The international affair shot by Glen Luchford also includes Kasia Struss riding a crowded Manhattan train in head to toe Lanvin – not the most practical endeavor but it looks great all the same. For the full story check out Interview Magazine.com.

Double Your Pleasure

January 22nd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Inspired casting can spell the difference between a good campaign and a great one. For Costume National the Natasa Vojnovic and Cole Mohr join forces for a moody series of Glen Luchford shots, Natasa brings her trademark posing prowess while Cole adds a hint of rock & roll cool. Seperately both stars are dynamic but together they light up the frame.

Tough but Tender

October 3rd, 2008 |Posted by Janelle

Freja Beha Erichsen has perfected the androgynously sexy look with a series of editorials and campaigns that cash in on the Danish beauty’s ability to conjure the masculine as well as the feminine within her poses. Glen Luchford draws on this unique talent for Vogue Italia, creating a series of shots that display Freja’s beauty as well as her androgyne allure. The dresses may be frilly but Freja remains as strong and hard edged as ever.
