FIRST LOOK: Scandinavia SSAW

December 16th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Last week we previewed Scandinavia SSAW Magazine‘s stunning Frida Gustavsson editorial, shot in the mountains of Norway and filled with natural beauty – that story was gorgeous but it is far from the only treat inside the issue. With a series of elegant covers featuring Scandinavian top models alongside delicate drawings of flora, the magazine sets the tone for an issue focused on eye-catching images. Whether the content skews naturalistic – as it does in Hasse Nielsen‘s cheeky ‘Nadja On A Bender’ story, or epic ala Benjamin Vnuk‘s dramatic shots of Stef Van Der Laan, each story is high quality from start to finish.

Natural Wonder

December 11th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Scandinavia SSAW Magazine and Frida Gustavsson team up again for another inspiring fashion moment. You may remember the previous edition of Scandinavia SSAW and its wholly unique covers featuring Frida – this time around the story takes on a fantastical element. Shot in the mountains of Norway by photography duo Boe Marion with creative direction by Jakob Hysén Hedberg and styling by Oscar Lange, the vibrant images pull you into a lush world that is rustic and refined at the same time. Sporting chunky sweaters, overcoats and the occasional ornate gown Frida looks exquisite and the portraits by Boe Marion with their collage detail and arresting natural backdrop are absolutely spectacular.

Inside Scandinavia

May 29th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

You’ve glimpsed the seemingly infinite covers of Frida Gustavsson for Scandinavia SSAW Magazine, but when it comes to magazines it’s what is inside that counts. In keeping with the ‘literally unique’ theme of the issue, the content centers around eye-catching editorials with an individualist sensibility. The fashion content is an enticing mix of  fresh pieces from AcneHaider AckermannAlexander McQueen and H&M spread across stories that run the gamut from Marcus Ohlsson‘s revealing take on minimalism, to Andreas Ohlund‘s eclectic exploration of the season’s knitwear.

To the Streets

April 5th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Antidote Magazine turns the sidewalk into a catwalk with a little help from Hans Feurer. The legendary photog and man behind the oft-imitated, but never duplicated street chic editorials creates a series of images featuring an all-star cast of beauties. Anna Selezneva, Barbara PalvinCatherine McNeil, Daphne Groeneveld, Frida GustavssonJac JagaciakJourdan Dunn, Jacquelyn Jablonski and Zuzanna Bijoch take turns posing in front of Feurer’s lens in elaborate ensembles selected by Creative Director, Yann Weber. Reflecting the latest trends, as well as the eclecticism and vibrance of the statement making garments worn each day in stylish cities, the story makes for a fitting tribute to the timeless allure of street fashion.

Take an exclusive first look at the story here and for more on ‘The Street Issue’ check out Antidote’s website.

Campaign Confidential

July 6th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

The ads keep on coming, check out a few more of our faves from the season – take a look back at our previous campaign favorites post too.

Balenciaga

While we can’t imagine either Nicolas Ghesquière or Steven Meisel spending a lazy weekend at the shore, the Balenciaga campaign is set in such an idyll. Fresh faces Anniek KortleveLinn ArvidssonHirschy HirschfelderJulier BuggeJuliet Ingleby and Rosie Tapner lay out on the dunes in those eccentric looks from F/W.

Chanel

Simple, clean and led by a stellar cast, Chanel’s fresh ads feature Kati Nescher, Lindsey Wixson & Cora Emmanuel as styled by Carine Roitfeld. Naturally, Karl Lagerfeld is behind the camera – which depending on your perspective you either love or hate, that said the casting on this is flaw free.

Dolce & Gabbana

A taste of Italian nostalgia shot by Giampaolo Sgura and featuring Monica Bellucci, Bianca Balti and Bianca Brandolini – each image feels like a still from a Pasolini film.

Valentino

Valentino once again gives us a vision of pure class from the iconic Deborah Turbeville. Elegantly color coordinated looks on Jac JagaciakCaroline Brasch Nielsen and Frida Gustavsson - what’s not to love?

Fendi

When you have Joan Smalls and Karl Lagerfeld you don’t really need much else. With the natural setting and powerful poses, this new ads remind us a bit of Anja Rubik‘s S/S 10 ads for the luxe line.
