Bits & Bytes: Model Obsession

February 2nd, 2011 |Posted by Betty

Bambi Northwood Blyth by Annie Wilshaw.

We (as well as almost every fashion person we know) are obsessed about models, Polaroids and Polaroids of models. In a special piece for TheOnes2Watch, Annie from Premier Model Management talks about how she started and hands over her trove of beauties to the O2W. Take a peek on O2W and choose your favorite.

Bits & Bytes Special Model Edition:

There may be no other male model search as successful as the VMan/Ford collaboration (take a look at what the past winners have been doing). Their new search has begun and the winner gets a shoot with the incredible Steven Klein, styled by Nicola Formichetti. We just might be a tad jealous. (Search ends March 1st)

Perry Ellis‘s February show needs one more hot male model and wants YOU the audience to choose him. Check out Andre Douglas, Seth Kuhlman and more of the hot 9.

Model agencies, want to see how to do Twitter the right way? Read Damien from Ford’s interview to figure out your Twitter gameplan.

Givenchy face and former MOTW Jonathan Marquez talks to Ponyryder.

Missed out on our Top Money Guys’ listing? Go ahead, and FB Like it… you know you love handsome men like Noah Mills and David Gandy.

The awesome Coco Rocha writes the forward to Jeanne Beker’s new book on the modeling industry (which is titled Strutting It! The grit behind the glamour). Is there anything this girl doesn’t do? Oh and if you missed her details about her efforts with Haiti with Behati, go here.

We really don’t have much to say about America’s Next Model but when Erin WassonAlek WekFranca SozzaniLori GoldsteinFrancesco Carrozzini and IMG’s Ivan Bart are all mentioned in one sentence, we might have to give ANTM a second glance.

Marilyn Gauthier Paris has a brand new blog and it’s sexy, strong and fashionable (just like Ms. Gauthier herself).

New Beauty Bregje: The Ones to Watch

The First, Daria by Camilla Akrans on the cover: The Fashion Spot

**JULY VOGUE ITALIA UPDATE**
Speaking of the Fashion Spot; industry insider codenamed Northern Star reports about the All Black issue of Vogue Italia: “Was just checking through some sales figures on last months mags at work and this issue’s net sale figures were up some 1000% on the June issue. Which is pretty much astonishing for a foreign fashion magazine in the North of England. Just shows what the powers of media and word of mouth can do for a product which in my opinion deserved to be so successful.” We say, WORD!

The new Interview: Makeup artist Robert Greene gets personal

Franca, Anna and Suzy all celebrating 20 years: On the Runway

We love the expensive client gift bags at COACD.

Vogue Italia, Steven and Franca

June 19th, 2008 |Posted by Betty

….talk to the NY Times Cathy Horyn.

Conspicuous by their Presence.

The Times piece includes a rare and fascinating glimpse into the world of Mr. Meisel. The magazine itself is a landmark issue and a must buy for everyone even remotely interested in fashion and modeling! Cathy also writes on her blog about the shoot. Make sure you read the comments on Cathy’s blog, some extremely passionate and well written responses about her article and the whole subject of more diversity in modeling.

Wayne, from MDC, posts his thought on his personal blog. Interesting tidbit, Sessilee now with Major Models was MDC’s MOTW in April 2004, just a baby back then! She’s truly blossomed into a gorgeous young woman especially as lensed by Steven…

Liya, Sessilee, Jourdan, Naomi. Ph: Steven Meisel for Italian Vogue, July 08
