Cara’s Cover!

June 19th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

It was only a matter of time before Cara Delevingne got her first solo American Vogue cover. The July issue of the glossy is fronted by the cult-status model and actress photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. For the editorial, the Paper Town actress is styled by Tonne Goodman in Prada’s fall collection and is accompanied by co-star Nat Wolf. Vogue also put together a very sentimental video compilation of friends like Taylor Swift, Binx Walton and Kendall Jenner celebrating her big moment. Models.com remembers when Cara stopped by the office way back when in 2011 and, as she does, charmed her way into our hearts. See her talking about her love for performing here.

I am Legend

April 27th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For Vogue Brasil’s fortieth birthday, they laud none other than their own Brazilian legend, Gisele Bundchen. Though she walked her last show in the recent São Paolo Fashion Week, ending 20 years on the runway, the mega-model and mother continues to raise her fabled career to even more illustrious proportions. The cover shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin puts an unclothed and statuesque Gisele on a pedestal looking absolutely immortal. A very apropos choice.

Wu Bar None

In the world of Jason Wu every night provides another opportunity for fine dining and supermodel filled revelry. For the designer’s Spring 2015 campaign, Wu continues his epic pairings of top model and top restaurant with sleek Inez & Vinoodh shots of Karlie Kloss in the legendary Grand Central Oyster Bar. The chic campaign art directed by Patrick Li juxtaposes an ultra-sexy Wu clad Karlie, with the Oyster Bar’s famous counter and Grand Central’s Beaux-Arts architecture. All in all the ad provides the perfect distillation of Wu’s woman – a vibrant and well heeled beauty who is always ready for a night on the town and sets hearts racing the moment she walks in the door.

mdc ♥s: Summer Beauty

July 30th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Is there a more perfect summer beauty than Marloes Horst? We think not!

Makeup melting? Skin acting up? Generally feeling too hot for comfort due to weather ( or perhaps you’re just overheated from looking at that Made in Brazil preview) take a look at some of our favorite products to help you beat the heat.

Adjusting your skincare routine for the summer is a surefire way to alleviate some of the season’s annoyances. Switch to a lightweight moisturizer like Amore Pacific’s Moisture Bound. The unique gel provides enough moisture without ever getting greasy or slick. The oil and sulfate free blend also promises to protect skin against environmental aggravations.

If you aren’t slathering on sunscreen in this heat, you ought to be! Protect yourself with one of La Roche Posay’s foolproof sunscreens. We like the ultra light Anthelios for ease of use and the fact that it can double as a foundation primer.

As the one eyeliner that didn’t melt off our face during the heatwave (believe us when we say that others did and we were looking like raccoons for a minute there) we have to give a special nod to Shiseido’s Automatic Fine Eyeliner. Anything good enough for both Dick Page and Raquel Zimmermann is certainly good enough for us! The brand’s beautiful eye shadow trio in the limited edition Pink Sands, is another of our faves.

Bronzer is a tough call. The deep sienna shades we see on the runways rarely carry over into real life and the dreaded Oompa Loompa overdose of orangey bronze is all too common. Thankfully, Bobbi Brown’s natural matte shades, make the selection process easier. The matte texture is natural looking and the wide range of shades provides a fool proof option for every skin color – the new shades like Rich Cocoa and Deep Chocolate are incredible.

Hourglass’ cheek stain is another summer winner with its bright long lasting color that can be applied with the fingertips. Top it all off with a swipe of Lancome’s color fever gloss, ala the brand’s spokeswomen Daria Werbowy and Emma Watson. Were in love with the summery shade, Hibis-Kiss.

Anything that makes things simpler is always welcome and Ellis Faas‘ special summer bronze set is phenomenal. The futuristic silver pens contain a blush, a lipgloss and a shimmering gold highlighter; everything you need to create a beautiful look is right there at your fingertips. Faas’ name is familiar in fashion circles – she’s a frequent contributor in Vogue Italia and creates the trendsetting cosmetic looks for designers like Giambattista Valli and her new line takes a little of that glamour and brings it to the masses.
