Russh’s Energy

April 4th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

Russh travels to the idyllic beaches of Ibiza for its Energy Issue. In the hands of another glossy, the topic of energy would be handled in a literal fashion with kinetic editorials brimming with tension, but Russh prefers to play it cool. Offering up a series of chill stories filled with fashionable femmes and an effortless vibe attuned to spring/summer’s easy-going fashions. Cover star Julia Nobis makes for the perfect embodiment of this laid back, yet irresistible aura. The lithe Aussie seem right at home as she chills in Celine Birkenstocks and she even manages to make high-concept pieces from Gareth Pugh & Alexander Wang look easy in Benny Horne‘s dreamy imagery.

First Look : RUSSH

February 5th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

For the 50th edition of Russh, the always cool Aussie glossy, pulls out all the stops. The ‘Now Showing’ issue focuses on the inspirational power of cinema and storytelling as an artform, so it is no surprise that the mag is filled with leading ladies; from fashion’s hottest models, to Hollywood’s rising beauties and insightful auteurs. Naturally each editorial tells its own story – on the cover Marie Piovesan plays a modern day incarnation of Marie-Antoinette, while editorials inside feature Rosie Tapner showing off the season’s striking shapes and Ruby Jean Wilson getting the Wim Wenders treatment in a ‘Wings of Desire’ inspired photoshoot.

Be sure to check out Russh when it hits stands Feburary 6th, or check out the iPad edition in the App store.

In A Russh

December 5th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Russh wraps up the year with a beautiful look at laid back fashions and a host of the seasons model MVPs. The “Born to Be” issue embraces the individual, whether they’re wild or tame and provides a Russh take on the fashion extremes. Marique Schimmel graces the hippie chic cover by Nick Dorey and stars in the engaging fashion feature. Inside Marte Mei van Haaster and Monika Sawicka showcase the current trend for deconstructed denim in Amy Troost‘s denim story, while Bambi Northwood Blyth is a beauty come undone in Stephen Ward‘s images. Last but not least, Fresh face Anna Brewster is the picture of ethereal loveliness in Derek Henderson‘s black and white ‘Cloud Street’.

Preview the image for yourself with these exclusives from the Dec/Jan issue of Russh.

Young Love

August 27th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

We love when magazines debut fresh talent so Vogue Australia‘s October issue is a special treat. Fresh face Codie Young snags adorable floral cover by Nicole Bentley, but eagle-eyed model fans may remember her from a 50s themed editorial by Derek Henderson inside September’s issue. The pink floral cover is a refreshingly girly choice for fall and Codie’s doll like features remind us of the incredible babyfaced Aussie sensations to debut in previous years; Abbey, Gemma, Miranda, the list goes on. Could Codie be the girl to watch come S/S 11? Let us know what you think!
