Fei Fei Sun is a versatile modeling star, but photographers typically depict her showing a glamorous side in editorials. For the latest issue of FAT Magazine Hugh Lippe reveals a whole new layer of Fei Fei’s appeal with a gritty story that showcases the beauty’s capacity for carrying off even the edgiest fashions with aplomb. Lippe’s stark black and white shots take Fei Fei to gritty locales and feature an array of androgynous styles selected by stylist Karen Kaiser. Displaying a nonchalant cool and ease in front of Lippe’s lens the dazzling star has never looked cooler than in these compelling new shots.

Friends & Associates

April 9th, 2013 |Posted by models.com

With more and more designers blurring the lines of gender specific fashion; Matthew Edelstein‘s Spring/Summer 2013 collection for Friends & Associates, as seen in the latest issue of Visual Tales Magazine, is definitely timely. Matthew, a longtime stylist and creative director for the year old brand, studied fashion design first so the move to start the women’s wear line was a homecoming of sorts. The new collection as shot by the renowned Arthur Elgort and styled by David Vandewal puts a twist on all this; women’s clothes based on men’s iconic uniforms, worn on some of the season’s freshest male faces. We asked Matthew and David for their takes on the collection and shoot

Matthew: The Friends & Associates Resort and S/S 2013 collections are inspired by iconic uniforms of all kinds; we combine details from military and sport in strong color and updated proportions. These boys look so fresh we call them ‘Candy Land Cadets’.

David: We created with Arthur Elgort a sort of cinematic men’s fashion story around one of my favorite movie The Last Detail by director Hal Ashby in ’73 starring a young, naughty bad-ass Jack Nicholson. Navy sailors are ordered to bring a young offender to prison but decide to show him a last good time along the way. It’s a tough drama, but they become in a complicated way, buddies for life.

See the brightly colored Resort and Spring 2013 collections, available now, on Friends & Associates.

The Eyes Have It

July 28th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

A good beauty story can make you see cosmetics in a whole new light and Vogue Japan‘s lovely beauty feature by Raymond Meier takes eye makeup to that next level. Featuring the talents of Makky and the gorgeous faces of Luisa Bianchin and Yulia Terentieva, the images show exciting ways to play up eyes with loads of liner and bleached brows.

Double Kloss

July 19th, 2011 |Posted by Janelle

Just when you’ve think you’ve seen every possible incarnation of Karlie Kloss, she pulls another one out of her hat. The teen modeling queen shows up in Vogue Italia and American Vogue this month, sporting two very different looks. In Craig McDean‘s sleek portraits, Karlie sports a jet black crop and some seriously stylish graphic looks created by Camilla Nickerson. For Stephane Sednaoui‘s black and white series, Karlie traipses around NYC with futuristic sunglasses and a towering bouffant.
