The Select

February 12th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Select Model Management is having a moment. With the market cornered on cool London youth the agency lands 6 of the month’s most talked about covers. First Pixie Geldof lands front and center on the cover of Vogue Italia in perhaps the most inadvertently controversial cover so far this year, then Ash Stymest and Eliza Cummins double team for Dazed and Confused. Punk princess Alice Dellal adds her edge to i-D, sharing space with the ‘so hot right now’ Eliza and Daisy Lowe and the eternally iconic Stella Tennant. Last but certainly not least, who lands in said i-D but one of our favorite 80’s mannequins, Jeny Howarth, looking as legendary as ever.

Cool Britannia!

February 10th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Modelizers, brace yourselves, i-D is hitting newsstands with not one, not two but 12 incredible covers dedicated to the best British models. By now we all know that Brit girls are among the coolest in the industry and each cover taps into the dynamic personality of its star. Legends like Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Twiggy,  Stella Tennant, Susie Bick and Yasmin LeBon share space with au courant faves like Lily Donaldson, Agyness Deyn and Jourdan Dunn. The London It-girls are in full effect too with Alice Dellal, Daisy Lowe and newcomer Eliza Cummins (fresh from her turn in Dazed & Confused) all snagging covers. Long live the queens!

So Ad-dictive

December 29th, 2008 |Posted by Janelle

The holidays may be almost over but new ads are the gifts that keep on giving. Fresh from her latest Longchamp ads, Kate Moss shines as the face of Fred Joaillier. In the black and white ads shot by Patrick Demarchelier, the British beauty looks as exquisite as the sparkling diamonds adorning her wrist. Christy Turlington lends her classic allure to Bally’s colorful S/S campaign, looking lovely in the line’s signature styles as she does. Rounding out the pack, Marc by Marc Jacobs treats us to an exceptionally angelic looking Daisy Lowe photographed in Juergen Teller‘s distinctive style.
