Gucci Gucci

Alessandro Michele‘s vision for Gucci sets the world in the gritty cityscape of LA. Models are all in various states of transport, whether by train or foot, adorned in Michele’s first foray for the juggernaut brand. Shot by Glen Luchford, the retro looking visuals match nostalgia with modernity as background figures provide abrupt variation to designs  in the foreground. Again, the floral prints mixed with the staunch rigidity of industrialization drive home the point of dualities and fluidity between the runway and the street. See more of the images below.

Public School Is In Session

February 2nd, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

Public School‘s spring campaign offers a unique twist on a classic scenario, Amanda Murphy and Harry Curran take to the dry erase boards for a gritty series of images shot by Gregory Harris (Management + Artists) and styled by Ludivine Poiblanc (Management + Artists) with creative direction by Christopher Simmonds (Management + Artists). The duo scrawls lengthy equations and technical diagrams on clear glass as Harris shoots them through the glass. The concept is simple and it makes for an engaging set of images with a voyueristic feel. Harris draws inspiration from David Bowie’s Insolar tour book, but gives the idea a modern twist that allows for Public School’s crisp spring collection to take center stage. The accompanying campaign film by Maria Gordillo takes the idea one step further with Amanda and Harry scribbling & rocking out until the neat equations become scrawled chaos.

In Theory

February 6th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Olivier Theyskens takes the creative reigns of Theory‘s SS14 campaign and the end result is every bit as sophisticated as you’d imagine. Stella Tennant and Clement Chabernaud take center stage in black and white images from Lachlan Bailey (Paris: Management + Artists, New York: Management + Artists) that were shot on location in Brooklyn. With Ludivine Poiblanc (New York: Management + Artists, Paris: Management + Artists) providing styling and Christopher Simmonds art directing, the minimalist campaign portraits offer a less is more take on glamour that is right in line with Theory’s trademark elegance.

J.W.’s 1st

June 28th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

The allure of the unexpected has always been a part of JW Anderson‘s aesthetic and for the line’s first campaign Anderson goes for imagery with an off-kilter appeal. Shot by Jamie Hawkesworth and styled by Benjamin Bruno, art direction by Christopher Simmonds and creative direction by Jefferson Hack‘s MAD London the campaign focuses on contrasting shots of a high ponytail sporting blonde and a male model carrying the ultimate statement accessory – a severed car door. The clash of visual cues and the simple, refined photography make for a ad that feels as fresh as Anderson’s fall collection.
