No Code

January 25th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

Are industry insiders the new designers? Tod’s seems to think so, the venerable Italian brand partners with Jefferson Hack for NO CODE, a capsule collection for men and women. Combining the legendary Tod’s craftsmanship with Jefferson’s idiosyncratic take on fashion makes for an exquisite array of pieces that are timeless yet modern. The corresponding campaign by Roe Ethridge is just as eye-catching, with Meghan Collison and Christian Brylle looking as nonchalantly cool as ever. Take a look at these exclusive behind the scenes images and interviews to get a feel for the world of No Code.

See the entire collection on the NO CODE web site.

Northern Exposure

August 30th, 2010 |Posted by contributor

Sweden, the land of clear eyed beauties and annoyingly complicated to build furniture has a new visual treat on its shelves. Intermission Magazine just launched its second issue and it is hapnadsvackande (quite amazing). Featured are tantalizing interviews with Vogue Paris art director, Johan Svensson; designer Isabel Marant, Victoire de Castellane, Acne’s Jonny Johannsson and of course the requisite exquisite editorials with girl of the moment Tatiana Cotliar, Mark Cox, Christian Brylle, Hanne Gaby Odiele and many more. Check out both new covers here and no need to take out your Swedish dictionaries; the Intermission team has kindly put all the interviews in English at the back of the issue! (Story by Michael N)

Coupling

April 21st, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Sebastian Faena presents an unexpectedly subdued story for VMan. Meghan Collison, Sean O’Pry, Siri Tollerod and Christian Brylle, cast by Andrew Weir, star as two well dressed couples in Faena’s 60s inspired studio edit. Both pairings are unexpected but work surprisingly well together – who knew Meghan and Sean would look so good together? Mattias Karlsson‘s impeccable styling keeps the couples coordinated and the sky high beehives by Holli Smith add to the retro feel.

Plus 2

August 28th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Joining Sasha Pivovarova and Ash Stymest, in multi cover mania are the perfect pairings of Jamie Bochert and Christian Brylle on Vogue Italia cover 2 and Anna Jagodzinska, Will Lewis and Max Rogers on cover 3. VI covers always inspire passionate diatribes from fashion followers and September’s Unexpected trio is no different. Here are some of our favorites from the Fashion Spot fans:

radolgc: So happy to see male models on the cover…it all looks like homeless people having fun with makeup and stealing couture clothes from some shop in the middle of the night and having fun with it! Love the mood, love everything about it…the fact there are multiple covers makes it much more exciting!

youarearockstar: For the record, I think Jamie looks absolutely sensational on that cover and pairing her with Christian Brylle was genius. They’re two witches-cum-chimney sweeps.

vavavinny: …This is all very Oliver Twist / demented Alice in Wonderland to me…Despite my pure and utter hatred for the whole concept, though, I must say that Anna J. steals the show. She still manages to look fierce and sexy, even with that disaster-of-a-hat on her head and the two satyr-looking things standing behind her.

wednesday’s child: No offence to anyone but i just can’t understand how people don’t like this.. it’s perfect in every way..it totally captures the zeitgeist, the casting, styling is perfect!! the dirt, the ruffianishness, to me its like a post apocalyptic vision, where consumer society has been replaced by something harder and more real, where people make do with what is around them to keep warm, but still create outfits that look beautiful with their creativity!… the staff Ash is carrying is like a traveler, a refugee, so global, so now, I can’t wait to get it! can someone explain why they don’t like it!!!!

nijuyanha: The boar in Jamie’s hand scares me (actually gives the impression she’s breastfeeding it) but overall I think that one is probably the best out of all the covers.

And there you go. What’s your take on the 3 covers?

Gucci Crew II

August 6th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Benoni Loos is leading the pack when it comes to Gucci. After walking the show as an exclusive two seasons in a row, Benoni lends his refined look to two of the brand’s campaigns. Showing his versatility, Benoni looks dapper in the black and white menswear ad and then switches to a rock n’ roll look for Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin‘s mainline campaign. Joined by Adrian Bosch, Matvey Lykov, Christian Brylle and Gerhard Freid, the striking Belgian represents exactly the kind of youthful cool that Frida and co. adore.
