Honesty in fashion – a novel concept in this day and age. Everyone wants to make socially conscious and informed decisions when buying clothing, but designers almost never reveal those key details about their cost breakdowns and manufacturing – until now. Bruno Pieters introduces a radical new fashion concept, that lets buyers see every part of the process. From thread prices, to information on all materials their environmental impact and the business practices under which each garment was made: no detail is too small – even info on the markup is included.

The end result is a luxury fashion brand with complete transparency. Organic certified, cruelty free and ethical all while being rooted in the traditions of fine craftsmanship and streamlined design. Experience the freshly launched collection at the Honest by website and take a look at the elegant black and white preview images below.

Boys Will Be…

October 25th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Menswear editorials have always played with ideas about androgyny and gender, but fashion is experiencing a drag moment these past few months. You could call it the Candy effect; the groundbreaking transgender fashion mag launched with a now infamous editorial / cover by Brett Lloyd and since then photographers from Nick Knight to Terry Richardson and Steven Klein have all incorporated drag looks in their photographs. Shots of boys in girls clothing test the versatility of male models (who knew Cesar Casier looked so great in a shift dress) and challenge archaic rules about who can wear what, but are you enjoying fashion’s love affair with all things drag? Let us know in the comments!

James Franco on the cover of Candy Magazine by Terry Richardson.

Sweater girls Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin and styled by Vanessa Reid in Pop

Cesar Casier and fellow man in drag join Lara Stone in Steven Klein‘s story for Vogue Paris

Here’s a link to Golden Globe winner, Mo’Nique who dedicates her award to victims of child abuse. “”The number of victims who never reveal their secret or who wait many years to do so is very high. This is regrettable because the longer they wait to reveal the abuse, the harder and more enduring the consequences will be.”

Party Favors

June 26th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Enjoying the nightlife appears to be a recurring motif within the F/W campaigns. DSquared F/W serves up yet another ‘sexy night on the town” themed ad but this time around Lara Stone, Kerry Degman, Antonio Navas and Cesar Casier have the sort of wild evening only Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott could capture. From Lara riding on Kerry’s back to the group partying on a Rolls it would seem a very good time was had by all.
