The Ideal

November 26th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

At the end of every year Vogue Paris selects an star to guest edit and serve as the inspiration behind a special issue. In the past everyone from Tom Ford to Carla Bruni and John Galliano has taken on the role but for 2015 the magazine snags an icon of French culture to serve as the guiding force for the December/January edition. As a model, muse and enduringly stylish presence on the fashion scene Ines de la Fressange represents for many the ideal of the chic Parisienne woman. We can’t think of a better person to see on the frontpage of Vogue Paris and in Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (Art Partner) striking stylized shots de la Fressange shows she’s still a force in front of the camera.

April 19th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

We couldn’t help but rejoice when we saw the supermodel to end all supermodels, Linda Evangelista, showing up in the latest Chanel eyewear campaign. Of course that got us thinking about Linda’s history with the brand; can you believe she’s been working with Chanel for over twenty years now?! Have a look back at some of our favorite Linda + Chanel moments, and be sure to share yours in the comments!

Storm’s Rainbow

November 22nd, 2011 |Posted by Betty

Storm Model Management‘s most iconic faces (including Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss, Eva Herzigova, Carla Bruni and the new generation like Lily Cole, Emma Watson, Liberty Ross and Jourdan Dunn) personally sign covers to benefit The Rainbow Trust charity. Founded 25 years ago, Rainbow provides support to families with terminally ill children.

Liberty tells us: “Rainbow is an amazing children’s charity and completely self funded. They help so many families during terrible times. Everyone should check the covers out, they could make a great Christmas gift, as well as supporting one of the most worthwhile causes.”

Liberty’s cover

One of our favorites? Jourdan Dunn‘s oh so precise signature on her i-D portrait. To check out the rest of the covers go to Facebook now. Bidding starts on eBay November 23 for 10 days only.

Risque Business

January 29th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

In the 80’s there was Brooke Shields who famously declared that nothing came between me and my Calvins. In the 90’s the infamous photo shoot in the basement took place that had conservative Christians crying child pornography. Sandwiched in between were iconic underwear images of Tom Hintnaus, Marky Mark and an English new face named Kate Moss. If there is one thing that Calvin Klein can do is create a buzz that millions of advertising dollars cannot buy. The current commercial for CK Jeans shot by Steven Meisel is already banned in the US (joining last year’s Calvin’s Eva Mendes fronted Obsession fragrance). This is the first CK Jeans commercial since Brooke’s and it doesn’t disappoint. WWD has the uncensored preview here and steamy it most certainly is. The models spotted rolling around and appearing in the provocative print ads are some of the industry’s hottest stars and freshest new faces including Anna Jagodzinska, Anna Selezneva, Natasha Poly, Edita Vilkeviciute, Danny Schwarz, Vladimir Ivanov, Carson Parker and new face Mikus Lasmanis.

Carla by Annie for Vanity Fair

July 28th, 2008 |Posted by Betty

Though there were rumors of a supermodel September cover for Vanity Fair‘s annual Style issue, it looks like the one supermodel everybody is talking about, Carla Bruni Sarkozy, made the cut. With photos by Annie Leibovitz, read the entire article on Carla now on Vanity Fair’s website. It promises to be quite a read…

Carla Bruni: The Evolution

May 20th, 2008 |Posted by Betty

From young supermodel to girlfriend of the stars to crooner to current title as chic-est President’s wife in the world; Carla Bruni has (in the words of the old Virginia Slims ads) indeed come a long way, baby. The current British Vogue documents pictorially the transformation. Witness Carla with fellow supermodels, Milla Jovovich (pre Resident Evil days), Helena Christensen and Nadja Auermann
