First Look: Document Journal

April 29th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

The soon-to-be-out S/S ’16 issue of Document Journal is a who’s who of the here and now, and if the 8 covers fronted by fashion’s royalty like Hedi Slimane and Grace Coddington didn’t tip you off, then here’s the inside to take you there. Between the amusing and uncommon imaginings of collaborators like Willy Vanderperre and Olivier RizzoColin Dodgson and Joe McKennaRoe Ethridge and Robbie Spencer to the pleasurably picturesque–like Coco Capitan‘s unassuming take on Lena Hardt or Venetia Scott‘ suburban-backdropped portraits styled by Sarah Richardson, there’s probably nowhere better to be. Starting now, Richardson will be the magazines new fashion director. Casting goes full out too, to good effect thanks to Piergiorgio Del Moro and Samuel Ellis Scheinman: models Stella TennantRianne van RompaeyAlice MetzaEstella Boersma plus more, use their respective demand to bring the issue to the far side of choicest. See below an exclusive Models.com preview of the issue before it hits stands.

Document Journal will be on sale the first week of May exclusively at Dover Street New York, BookMarc New York, Iconic Magazines New York, Dover Street London, Broken Arm Paris, Colette, 0FR Paris and 10 Corso Como Milan, and available worldwide the following week. Re-Edition Keeps its Cool

December 11th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Re-Edition Magazine‘s issue 3 dishes out an acme select of independent creatives and it-faces, this one entitled “Suddenly I have an urge to scream.” Barring its capricious titling, somber reigns here, all in good taste, and less is more. For the two of three cover stories, Richard Bush and Collier Schorr provide plenty of simple, silvery black and white images from breakout debutant Harry Brant to a serious Stella LuciaDan Giuliani keeps the monochrome going for his cover story with Ruth Bell, and the buzzy and buzzed model poses for her portrait from the inside out. Other editorials keep their cool, too, like Clara Balzary’s eccentric images with the much-in-demand Heather Kemesky or Eva Colle and Suzi Leenaars by Johnny Dufort, styled by current star stylist  Lotta Volkova. See the rest of the issue preview below.

Re-Edition Magazine Redefines Cool

August 17th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Re-Edition Magazine‘s second issue defines lo-fi cool by tapping prolific yet elusive photogs, muse-worthy castings and rare content. Case in point, two covers, one by Alasdair McLellan with Rianne van Rompaey dressed down in a vintage band tee, plus one by Collier Schorr with Sophia Ahrens sporting dog-chains and a black peaked cap, styled by Caroline Newell. Inside editorials are contemporary 101 meets 90s redux. Filling out the pages, icons Guinevere Van SeenusChloe Sevigny also pose for Collier. Some is new, some is archival, but all is unseen, like Corinne Day archival images – capturing a then-modern world with model Rosemary Ferguson. Fast forward to the now, and Céline girl Frederikke Sofie redefines the present for Robi Rodriguez. All in all, it’s a definite definitive of taste-makers. See the exclusive preview below:
