Vogue’s Side of Paradise

January 13th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Tucked inside the February British Vogue lives the tropic vision of photographer Tyrone Lebon who casts Damaris Goddrie and Frederikke Sofie to star in his equatorial tale of two rare beauties. Styled by Francesca Burns, the story is dressed in the latest big name spring offerings from Chanel and Prada to Marques Almeida, all finding a fitting home amongst the palms and sunsets of somewhere we’d like to be. The beauty motif is less is more. Hair stylist Syd Hayes double downs with the curls and makeup artist Lauren Parsons downplays with simple accents like a striking red lip when the moment’s right. With Lebon’s casually, daring style and the respective efforts of models and team, the fresh visuals are seductive and gorgeous without breaking a sweat.

January is for Gigi

December 7th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

What’s Gigi Hadid‘s New Year’s resolution? Apparently to set the record straight for any skeptics leaving little doubt about her all-star rank, if her Victoria’s Secret runway debut wasn’t enough. The girl on fire adds another notch to her Vogue belt with the solo cover of British Vogue by Patrick Demarchelier just after her November Vogue Italia cover.  Versace keeps her in good company (to say the least) next to supermodel fixtures Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann shot by Steven Klein , while Stuart Weitzman‘s campaign features a stripped down Gigi between Joan Smalls and Lily Aldridge, further exalting her position amongst the forces of modeling. Add on her Numéro cover and it’s looking like it’s going to be a very Gigi 2016.

Torrents of Summer

May 4th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

With ever-burgeoning potential, and just recently landing her first U.S. glossy cover on the front of Harper’s Bazaar, the inextinguishable Anna Ewers reaches another milestone covering British Vogue’s June 2015 issue–her first time to do so. Shaded as to not outshine the sun, she appears radiant photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and clad in a classic beachwear by Clare Richardson. A sunned glow from Gucci Westman and windswept hair by Teddy Charles keep her looks in line with the coming of summer.

The Royals

March 11th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For the April issue of British Vogue models of the kingdom Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Suki Waterhouse huddle together in summery, beaded dresses for Mario Testino (Art Partner). What better way to immortalize the trio’s friendship than together on the front of the glossy with a scantily clad inside story. It also marks Suki’s first time on the cover of Vogue UK, Georgia’s third and Cara’s fourth.

Clean Slate

January 8th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

If anyone can bring out the elegance in an editorial it is Patrick Demarchelier and in the latest British Vogue he creates a masterful story with stylist, Lucinda Chambers (Art Partner). Utilizing a restrained color palette of white, tan and cream and a cast of models of all ages Demarchelier (Anne Catherine LacroixKarolin WolterKat HessenKim PeersKirsten Owen & Vivien Solari) creates a minimalist story with a refined mood. With their stark ensembles and bleached colors some of the shots seem contemporary, while others channel classical art with models providing stately poses fit for Vermeer.

Well Dunn

January 6th, 2015 |Posted by Janelle

Jourdan Dunn.
Patrick Demarchelier.
British Vogue.

As the first black model to gain a solo cover of Brit Vogue since Naomi Campbell nearly 12 years ago, Jourdan makes history yet again. Breaking barriers has become a Dunn trademark and it isn’t a role Jourdan takes lightly; racism, body image and succeeding as a single parent are among the topics touched on in the revealing interview and Jourdan tackles the questions like a pro.

“It’s hard being a model regardless, and then being a black model. I have heard, ‘Oh, we haven’t shown any black models this season.’ So blasé… It’s messed up,” she says. “I get uncomfortable when I read comments saying, ‘I wanna look like you, I wish I had your body.’ When I was growing up I didn’t love myself, or like what I saw in the mirror. Curves are celebrated in Caribbean culture, so I felt the odd one out. So my message is: be happy and love yourself.”

Take a look back at Jourdan’s greatest moments for British Vogue and preview her February cover story on Vogue.co.uk

Amazing Grace

November 12th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

With her delicate features and bright blue eyes, Grace Hartzel is one of the prettiest models to grace the pages of fashion glossies of late, but don’t let the doll-like beauty fool you Grace is a force to be reckoned with. Over the past few months Grace has been steadily racking up a slew of impressive editorials, working with some of fashion’s coolest publications and best photographers. With three editorials in a row in Vogue Paris, a chic only-girl story in the latest Interview Magazine and compelling shots in British Vogue all eyes are on Grace. Coming off the heels of an impressive season (and exclusive) season is an accomplishment, but following it up with editorial after editorial of quality is what makes a model a star.
