Proportionality

December 3rd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Havana Laffitte‘s sharp styling transforms runway favorites for an inventive study on proportions in i-D. Outfits from Comme des Garçons, Galliano and Viktor & Rolf are combined to created voluminous shapes on Ashley Smith, Fei Fei Sun, Ann Kenny and Linn Arvidsson; the eclectic cast, chosen by Natalie Joos, provides the perfect canvas for creativity. Both Paola Kudacki and Havana have outdone themselves with this imaginative and downright eccentric story.

Debut

August 11th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Proenza Schouler has been an editorial favorite for years, but only now have design duo Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough released a full fledged advertising campaign. Proenza’s gritty and dark ads by Daniel Jackson are completely in line with the feel of the fall collection and they feature the season’s coolest girls, Kirby Kenny, Ann Kenny and Tati Cotliar.

Sister, Sister

July 22nd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

KT Auleta takes Ann and Kirby Kenny, in a luxe 70s direction for Vogue Russia. Both Ann and Kirby look perfect in the soft, beige and taupe ensembles chosen by Brian Molloy. The ubercool twins have done editorials together before (check out their great The Shining inspired edit in Interview) but this story nails the feminine style of designers like Hannah MacGibbon and Pheobe Philo – this shoot almost looks like it could be a Chloe campaign!

Greystoke

June 28th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Looks like grey is the new black (again)! Lanvin‘s trio of lovelies, Magdalena Frackowiak, Mariacarla Boscono and Anja Rubik glower fiercely in gunmetal grey for Steven Meisel (read more about Lanvin’s new St. Tropez store here at WWD).  Benetton‘s casting by Michelle Lee is, as usual, divine: multi-culti with some of the freshest faces of the season. The crew, photographed by Josh Olins/styled by Clare Richardson, wears the color enhanced with silver. Hugo Boss does slate with Ben Hill and Sasha Pivovarova fronting the German brand as shot by Cedric Buchet. Looks like there’s something here for everyone in the three campaigns. What’s your favorite grey piece you’ll be picking up for fall?

Hind Sahli, Sharon Kavjian, Abiah Hostvedt, Noma Han, Luis Borges, Ann Kenny, Charlie France and Willy Cartier.

Twin Peaks

March 2nd, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

Sisters Ann Kenny and Kirby Kenny are two of the season’s most promising newcomers, the twins have been racking up miles on the choosiest runways, but they make their editorial debut in the pages of Interview. Mark Segal shoots the duo in head to toe Miu Miu, looking like a grown up version of the spooky twins from, The Shining and Anne and Kirby capture the eerie mood of the story perfectly. The resulting pictures are cool and ever so slightly creepy – love the first image with the girls holding a single white balloon.
