To Be Real

July 18th, 2012 |Posted by Janelle

One of the most captivating campaigns to debut this season belongs to Lanvin. Instead of relying on the appeal of a fresh face or Hollywood it-girl, the brand chose a series of real women from ages 18 to 80 and created images unlike anything else you’re going to see this season. From the first Steven Meisel shot of an unsmiling sophisticate clad in designs from the Alber Elbaz‘s anniversary collection, to the striking shot of a lavender haired beauty surrounded by accessories, each image captures an appealing new mood. Elbaz told WWD that he was “interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes. It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.”

Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock and Stella Rose St. Clair and Rachel Trachtenburg by Steven Meisel for Lanvin

Powerful Soul

November 16th, 2011 |Posted by models.com

The ever so fascinating Lea T shines with a bevy of male models in the latest issue of Candy Magazine by Andreas Larsson. The Givenchy muse sports a both masculine and feminine looks and even tangos with fellow androgynous model Andrej Pejic in Yves Saint Laurent. Riccardo Tisci gushes about her saying that she is a “unique, rare, natural beauty, a combination of purity, hardness, romanticism, and agressiveness: all components of androgyny that are bound to both sexes,” and we couldn’t agree more!

Milan’s Men

September 30th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Milan Vukmirovic, one of the most prolific men in fashion, consistently amazes us every season. This Renaissance man, in between duties as creative director for all the Trussardi lines and editor/photographer/stylist for all the different L’Officiel Hommes, somehow still finds time to zero in on the hottest rising stars of the moment. In addition to Vince Robitaille who got the coveted L’Officiel Hommes cover and story, great new face Sebastian Sauve snags the cover of L’Officiel Hommes Germany (shot by Andreas Larsson); Michael Wozniak shines in 2 camouflage themed shoots; the very debonair Anthon Wellsjo is the epitome of sophistication and newcomers Isaac Farisato and Federico Cola debut with solo spreads in LH Paris and LH Italia. Which is your favorite face and story from all this L’Officiel Hommes madness?

Last Night’s Party

July 23rd, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

While some say fashion lacks originality there are still some brands out there willing to take a risk and go for a compelling new campaign concept. Case in point, Lanvin F/W menswear ads were shot on location during the Acne Paper launch party by photographer, Andreas Larsson. Male models were styled to the nines by Alister Mackie then sent out for a night on the town. The end result? A set of energetic portraits that capture the feel of a sophisticated night out. Keep an eye out for Top 10 Newcomer Adrien Sahoreshandsome face amongst the partygoers!
