Essentially Exciting

August 14th, 2014 |Posted by jonathanshia

Fresh off an eyecatching redesign, American menswear journal Essential Homme gets a head start on Fall with its new August/September issue, out this week. A grown-up Daniel Radcliffe stares out from the front cover, and the issue is packed with enticing styles for the cold days to come, kicked off by a collections story featuring iconic brands from Louis Vuitton and Hermès to Dior Homme and Lanvin. Designer interviews with Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Gieves & Hawkes’ Jason Basmajian, and rising star Patrik Ervell add some heft, interspersed with a variety of visions for Fall 2014. Mark Cox takes on smooth turtlenecks in an Eighties-inspired story, while the three finalists from the magazine’s casting search with Wilhelmina are dressed up in denim. Philip Witts and Rasmus Hååg—themselves finalists from last year’s VMAN/Ford Models Model Search—are sleek in an all-HUGO story, and Alexander Ferrario and Misa Patinszki take on some of the season’s more daring looks in an autumnal feature. New faces Nick Shaw and McClain Driver, shine in 2 other graphic editorials. Covering everything from sleek suiting to chunky Nineties creepers, the latest Essential Homme proves to be the ultimate resource for the season ahead.

MASS Effect

December 17th, 2013 |Posted by models.com

Biannual fashion magazine MASSES may be based in Paris but for its second issue its focus is the eye catching beauty of our physical world. The magazine takes some of the season’s most in demand faces styled in the best brands, to stunning natural locations that range from a cave to a desert island to an unforgettable underwater locale; and haunting manmade spots from a nuclear reactor plant to a sterile hospital setting. If you’re in Europe, U.S or Japan, look for it on your local newsstand. Take an exclusive peek at the issue below and to purchase, click here.

160g Relaunch

November 22nd, 2013 |Posted by victoria

As fashion increasingly embraces the Internet, the relaunch of French online magazine 160g, comes at the perfect time. 160g’s new creative and fashion director Benjamin Armand tells us: “My goal for the magazine is to use more video and gif images for the fashion story… Photos are still more important but almost all our fashion stories will have a little video clip/gif. I also want to have a full gif story in each issue.” Inspired by Japanese fashion and culture, this issue (which focuses mainly on men’s fashion this season) features quite an impressive lineup of male model talent, from Harry Goodwins to Fernando Cabral to hot cover face Sylvester Ulv Henriksen. The two covers are shot by Emmanuel Giraud, just one of the many talented up and coming photographers featured throughout the magazine.

Preview the Fall/Winter 13-14 issue below and see the full issue online next week.

First Look: The Greatest

April 12th, 2013 |Posted by models.com

Take a glimpse of the newest issue of The Greatest Magazine with minimalistic spreads of the season’s most coveted looks. The Italian magazine’s third issue, focusing on the theme of “Water”; features Paolo Zerbini shooting Tomek Szczukiecki for the cover (who’s shorn of his signature long locks). Some of the best new faces of the season are featured in staple pieces from the latest Spring Summer collections of Maison Martin Margiela, Jil Sander, Kenzo and more. Interviews with designers Andrea Incontri and Alessandro Sartori (the art director of Berluti) and an evocative fashion film (below, directed by Francesco Brigida) round out an issue overflowing with fresh and modern images, proving that minimal sometimes has a maximal effect.
