The Daria Werbowy magic is alive and well on the cover of i-D Magazine. In the second issue since the magazine’s revamp Karim Sadli delivers a stripped down shot of Werbowy covering one eye for the signature i-D wink. Dressed to perfection by Alastair McKimm the minimalist style she’s come to embody, Daria’s tattooed ring finger and nonchalant grace give you a hint of devil may care personality. Curious about the woman behind the portrait? The accompanying interview fills in the blanks taking readers into Werbowy’s private world of sailing, Ashtanga yoga and her beloved pup, Strawballz.

First Look: The Last Magazine

February 7th, 2014 |Posted by Betty

The Daria Werbowy allure isn’t about a look as much as it’s about an attitude. With her innate presence and nonchalant take on fashion, the Canadian superstar has inspired the greats of the business. Is it any wonder then that she’s on her second cover of The Last Magazine. Shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Alastair McKimm, the arresting image perfectly captures the Werbowy allure – cool, collected and complete with now famous nosering. In the accompanying story Mark Carrasquillo (Art Partner) provides the sleek makeup, while Yannick D’Is (New York: Management + Artists, Paris: Management + Artists) creates slicked back hair, both of which add to the dramatic beauty of Jansson’s high contrast shots. With an up close and personal view of one of the world’s most beautiful women, the expressive photos are sure to look incredible in The Last’s larger than life format.

Daria Delight

January 7th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Fashion models on the covers of major American publications? Wonders never cease! 2014 just started and already we’ve been treated to Joan Smalls on the cover of Elle, now Harper’s Bazaar surprises with a beautiful cover of Daria Werbowy. Shot by Daniel Jackson and styled by Alastair McKimm the stripped down cover and accompanying editorial offer an appealing departure from from what we’ve come to expect from Bazaar. McKimm’s minimal chic selection of pieces works perfectly with Daria’s innate style (love the Proenza Schouler on the cover) and Jackson’s studio shots are modern and beautiful.

In the latest issue of Dazed & Confused, Mikael Jansson photographs Julia Nobis looking beautifully futuristic, bundled up in winter trends. Not many people can make a dreary car-impound lot look chic and inviting, but the stunning Nobis and superstar stylist Alastair McKimm prove to us that she sure can.

Take a look inside the December issue of Dazed – from the artistic cover of James Franco to the fashion stories – now on Dazed Digital

Abstract Expressionism

August 19th, 2013 |Posted by Janelle

The intersection of art and fashion never fails to create arresting imagery, but the September collections edition of Dazed & Confused takes things one step further with an inventive fall editorial by Daniel Jackson. Transforming Esther De Jong, Casey Legler, Danielle Zinaich and Bridget Hall into gilded abstractions the story is a one of a kind take on the season’s key fashions. Hair and makeup by Francelle Daly and Esther Langham adds a painterly touch, while a razor sharp manicure by Tracylee provides a touch of danger. Stark styling courtesy of Alastair McKimm hones in on the minimalist yet decadent look of the moment, adding a gothic twist via a range of textured black pieces and expertly layered furs. The full look combines to re-imagine model as a living sculpture – distorted yet expressive and compelling.
