A lot of fashion magazine’s cross our paths these days, but Hungarian fashion glossy, The Room remains one of our favorites. Their latest issue, featuring Valerija Kelava, on the cover, is filled with exactly the kind of content we’ve been craving. From interviews with up and coming fashion talents like Juun. J, to strong editorials featuring eclectic casts (Simon Nessman, Benoni Loos and Lea T all in the same story), impressive styling and photographers whose work were fast becoming fans of. Take a look at our exclusive preview of the issue for a taste of what The Room has to offer.

Men In Black

July 8th, 2010 |Posted by Janelle

With two simple and effective shots Robbie Fimmano and Karl Templer sum up both sides of Dolce & Gabbana’s iconic mens collections; on one hand you have the old world Italian influences and on the other the debonair and modern luxury. The crisp images featuring Paolo Anchisi, Tyler Riggs, Berthold Rothas, Yuri Pleskun, Clement Chabernaud, Francisco Lachowski, Simon Nessman, Marcel Castenmiller, Max Motta, Michael Wozniak, Taylor Fuchs, Brad Alphonso, Niels Raabe, Mathias Bergh, Ian O’Brien, Laurent Albucher, Matthew Coatsworth, Brett Reeves, Mark Cox and Rodrigo Calazans are the perfect tribute to Dolce’s 20 years of menswear.

V Va Voom!

June 17th, 2010 |Posted by wayne

Sebastian Faena meets the legendary Carlyne Cerf De Dudzeele in the next issue of V (No. 66!) and the result is a hot, pop-driven tabloid tinged 12 page fashion story that is so much fun it practically vibrates on the page. Celebrating the timely Argentinian concept of “botineras” or footballer’s wives (just in time for the World Cup), the gorgeous cast includes Eniko Mihalik, Dree Hemingway, Simon Nessman, Constance Jablonski, Alessandra Ambrosio, Maryna Linchuk, Martin Landgreve and Jacques Naude. We love the way photography, styling and graphic design all combine to sing the same sexy tune!

World Cup

What could be more exciting than many of the world’s top male models posing for VMan? It just may be all of them getting together getting for tomorrow’s Male Model World Cup sponsored by the mag. Some top faces scheduled to kick off the event: Mathias Lauridsen, Simon Nessman, Danny Schwarz, Oraine Barrett and many more (see full list below). We chatted with VMan editor Jacob Brown and found out the inspiration.

“I came up with this idea actually at Mathias Lauridsen’s birthday dinner. He was telling me about the league soccer he plays, and how so many of the guys are also very serious soccer players—a lot of them are from Europe and have played all their lives. One of us made a joke like, “Oh wouldn’t it be funny if there was a big tournament where all the models competed.” And then I realized that it would actually be a perfect event for VMAN to host. So Mathias and I started putting it together. He’s sort of the chairman of the tournament and has helped get the players together with the agencies. And Hummel, which is an athletic gear company from his home country of Denmark, hooked us up with uniforms and everything. We are shooting the tournament tomorrow of course, and we will be running photos of the winning team in the next VMAN. Stephen Gan and I are really excited about this tournament and plan on making the Male Model World Cup a yearly event!

Gorgeous, athletic and sweaty men… Doesn’t get better than that.

Rare is the brand that people get excited about in terms of fashion, imagery AND casting. Returning face Jonathan Marquez appears as well, with a pink haired Malgosia Bela and Catherine McNeil adding supermodel vavoom. Fresh faces Joan Smalls, Ming Xi , Paolo Roldan and Willy Cartier appear in their first major campaign which was styled by Carine Roitfeld and shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
