All in the Details

August 11th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

We called it a casting coup when Details assembled ten top models for the cover of their March 2014 issue, but they’ve outdone themselves for Fall, with a grand total of thirty-one outstanding faces appearing on the front of the new September issue out today. Longtime favorites like Brad Kroenig, Mark Vanderloo, Gabriel Aubry, Tyson Ballou, and Will Chalker are joined by newer faces, from Clark Bockelman and Daisuke Ueda to Arthur Gosse and Jackson Hale, photographed by Mark Seliger and all dressed in Calvin Klein’s different lines by Matthew Marden, with casting by Edward Kim. The accompanying feature within shows off the wide range of options for Fall, from slick suiting to sharp sportswear. Chalker proves his enduring appeal with a solo feature in sophisticated suits photographed by Greg Kadel and styled by Bill Mullen, while photographer Michael Schmelling and stylist Annie Psaltiras take on the season’s edgy knits in an athletic feature starring pro skaters Christian Hosoi and Haden McKenna. And Fall may be the season of colder temperatures and cloudy skies, but to prove it’s not all gloomy weather, Christopher Griffith and Marden celebrate the brighter side in an editorial starring Abiah Hostvedt and Kendall Harrison in vibrant outerwear. Take a look at our preview of the new issue below.

Art and fashion are ever more closely intertwined in the latest issue of Noon, the upstart British biannual whose new edition is out now in collaboration with London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts. Alasdair McLellan (Art Partner)’s cover shot of a luminous, glowing, cloud-covered sky helps set the tone for a publication that promises a strong aesthetic and creative vision that goes above and beyond the standard glossy—even as the accompanying story within satisfies the fashion set with superstars Lara Stone and Simon Nessman. Mel Bles (London: D + V Management , New York: D + V Management) shoots a passel of unconventional looks by Jack Borkett, while Charlie Engman manipulates his urbane images of Esther De Jong in a feature styled by Lyson Marchessault. Lyson also works with Janneke Van der Hagen in a serene outdoor portfolio. The art edge shines through in a series of writings and artist portfolios, from Robi Rodriguez’s tender portraits to Lorenzo Vitturi’s iconoclastic still lifes. First Look: Details’ Supermodels

February 4th, 2014 |Posted by jonathanshia

The big March issues are making their way onto newsstands this week, and now Details has entered the fray with a guaranteed winner. Those who complain about the dearth of models on magazine covers will surely be cheered by the sight of not one, not two, not even three, but ten of today’s biggest superstars shot by celebrity photographer Mark Seliger (New York: Management + Artists, Paris: Management + Artists). Casting director Edward Kim gathered Garrett Neff, Clement Chabernaud, Noah Mills, Tyson Ballou, RJ Rogenski, Andres Velencoso Segura, Mathias Lauridsen, Arthur Kulkov, Simon Nessman, and Sean O’Pry for an iconic group shot that expands across a triple fold out. Dressed by Benjamin Sturgill, the ten are shown in some of spring’s sharpest pieces, and the accompanying feature within finds them surrounded by the buzzing lights of a classic New York night. Vanity Fair can have Julia Roberts and George Clooney; we’ll take these guys any day. (Images exclusively for courtesy of Details, for video and more, go to

Consistently Kors

July 17th, 2013 |Posted by

With the recent release of the Michael Kors F/W 13 campaign, other than stating the obvious of ‘stylish’ and ‘glamorous’, the best word to describe the campaign is ‘consistent’ — and we mean consistent in the best way. Michael Kors’ leading man and lady, Simon Nessman and Karmen Pedaru, are 2 of the main reasons for the fabulous consistency in Kors’ campaigns. The jet-setting duo is flawless in the latest, shot by none other than Mario Testino, his 10th year shooting for the designer.

Take a look at the new F/W 13 campaign below, followed by some of our favorites from the designer:

The Music Men

March 28th, 2012 |Posted by

This past week we were graced with new music videos by two pop divas and a queen. The month started when a Canadian singer Carly Rae Jespen debuted her music video for “Call Me Maybe” featuring the first in spring’s wave of videos with male models. Say goodbye to the days of the model video vixen, we welcome the presence of fashion’s finest men.

No stranger to a Lana Del Rey video, Bradley Soileau makes his second video appearance in “Blue Jeans” as her half-man-half-crocodile pool side lover.

What’s the best way to get over your cheating ex? Katy Perry makes her statement by enlisting with the Marines after catching Lucas Kerr red handed at the office in the “Part of Me” video. Let’s just hope that Katy and Baptiste Giabiconi can find a happier ending than that.

And never to be outdone, Madonna takes no prisoners in her Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott directed video by taking on not one, but five of the top male models in her video for “Girl Gone Wild.”

Fashion and music seem to go hand in hand and we can’t help but wonder; who will be the next fabulous face in this growing trend?
