First look: Vamp

October 14th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Vamp Magazine releases its latest issue “Against all odds.”  The forward-looking, woman-centric publication, as always, is dedicated to the beauty of feminine power, and the two cover stars Jamie Bochert and Emily DiDonato personify that virtue in beautiful black and white. Jamie is photographed Victorian chic in Givenchy by Sofia Malamute styled by Maryam Malakpour and Emily looks strong in Wu courtesy of David Vivirido, lensed by Bruno Staub. On the inside it’s vintage glamour galore with archival images from Chris Von Wangenheim, while Daniel Riera juxtaposes the severity of city streets with the modish fall pairings on a breezy Miyanda Jacobs. See what else fills the pages in the exclusive preview of the fourth issue below.

For the Givenchy Fall Winter 2015 campaign Riccardo Tisci kept it in the “just-about” family and when Donatella Versace’s presence was revealed in a preview with Tisci himself and Donatella, it nearly turned the internet upside down. It’s one thing for a designer to be in their own campaign, but including a rival fashion house… In response Tisci has said he considers the Italian empress family and both feel there should be more support within the industry. The brood also features Frankie Rayder, the face of the brand in 1999, amongst the company of Ricardo favorites like Mariacarla Boscono, Jamie Bochert and Stella Lucia clad in Givenchy. The styling by Carine Roitfeld  is complete with all of Tisci’s subverting calling cards: facial jewelry and septum rings, gothic ornament and severe silhouettes. The familial casting was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott set in the mileu of what could be imagined as their opulent estate. An accompanying campaign video has the stony-faced clan entertaining themselves in the sizable set.

Super Eight

March 5th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For L’Officiel Singapore‘s 8th anniversary issue Steven Klein (Art Partner) shoots eight covers featuring eight icons and modern muses. Harnessing the full potential of the coveted cast of beauties Klein produces a lustrous assemblage of fashion-noir covers. Naomi Campbell, Angela Lindvall, Guinevere Van Seenus, Liu Wen, Xiao Wen Ju, Jamie Bochert, Crystal Renn and Maria Borges each command their moments with steely perfection. Klein says of the reasoning behind the casted eight, “They are powerful, unique and know how to hold the camera.” Collaborating with fashion directors Jack Wang and Jumius Wong and stylist Patti Wilson (Streeters New York), the foursome put together a darkly, romantic spread equipped with black leather and stunning, mischievous headpieces. For each shoot, in classic Klein mode, he instigates a hushed eroticism where the models’ poses are both defiant and submissive.

Past, Present, Future

December 8th, 2014 |Posted by Janelle

Steven Meisel delves into modern bohemia with a striking December cover for Vogue Italia starring Jamie Bochert and Valerija Kelava. Styled by Marie-Amélie Sauvé, in floppy hats and folksy prints the duo embodies the free spirited days of yesteryear while sporting some of the latest fashions around. Inside the issue they’re joined by Hollie May Saker, Gabriel Marques, Harmony Boucher, Jackie Sanchez, Olivier John Rodgers, Olympia Campbell, Steffy Argelich and Will Lewis for an appealing series of shots that look culled from a late sixties scrapbook. Meisel ditches his sleek studio style in favor of soft, dreamy images mixed in with still life images by artist & filmmaker, Benn Northover.

Jamie & Valerija may have snagged the cover, but the model who steals the show is the adorable August Kruse Templer, who makes his Vogue Italia debut alongside proud mom Christina Kruse.

Model As Muse

September 25th, 2014 |Posted by

Jamie Bochert is the ultimate model muse and her presence in an editorial almost guarantees that the photographer will take things to the next level. For the new issue of Numero China Txema Yeste showcases a romantic side of Jamie’s demeanor with a cover & story that mix laid back cool with the thrills of youthful passion. Jamie and her handsome companion give the story a rock n’roll sensibility but the boy meets girl tale is as classic as it gets. Tim Lim‘s selection of luxe casual pieces from Louis Vuitton adds to the elegant yet appealingly streetwise feel.
