If there is one collection that is getting editorial love this September it is Nicolas Ghesquière’s debut for Louis Vuitton. While LVMH is generally no slouch in the editorial department, Ghesquire’s work has gone that extra mile – appearing on the cover of or within the pages of almost every single September issue thus far. For fans of the designer’s work the constant sight of logo printed belts and playful dresses has been an appealing constant thread amidst the past few months of editorials and covers, but how much is too much? Take a look at the line’s recent front page appearances and decide. Stylists show no signs of slowing down with their Vuitton obsession so you can expect to see the iconic luxury label rack up even more covers as the month winds down.

Chloe Hits the Road

For fall Chloe heads upstate to Harriman, New York for a designer roadtrip shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who put their style to good use creating an atmospheric campaign with the energy and sun-drenched cinematography of a feature film. Sasha Pivovarova and Andreea Diaconu are the heroines of this piece and they cruise through the deserted streets clad in Baylee bags, chunky furs and the seventies style girlish pieces that are Chloe’s bread & butter. The duo makes for the perfect pair of Chloe girls and the dreamy vibe of the video fits creative director, Clare Waight Keller’s vision completely.

LOVE’s 12th

Love Magazine and editor-in-chief Katie Grand  like to keep readers on their toes so issue 12 is filled with the unexpected. Adriana Lima brings a sultry energy to her Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin cover portrait, its flamenco feel providing a welcome playfulness to the month’s newsstand. The shoot marks the very first time Inez & Vinoodh create a cover for LOVE and the image doesn’t disappoint. The David Sims preview of Kendall Jenner whet our appetites for an all-American girl editorial and the final cover is an equally appealing shot of the beauty sporting an oversized fur hat. Last but certainly not least, multiple-Oscar nominee and new face of Max Mara, Amy Adams sheds her sweet image for a raw portrait by Juergen Teller.

Industrie Magazine is known for its in depth look at fashion’s most interesting personalities and the magazine’s latest issue lives up to that legacy with a compelling look at Vogue’s Tonne Goodman. As one of the most prolific stylists around, Goodman has helped to craft Vogue’s identity for several decades and more than 100 covers. Goodman rarely grants interviews so the recounting of her career, from her beginnings as a model to her tenure as fashion director is a wonderful treat for readers. Fashion historians will find themselves enthralled by the interview, while lovers of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin’s photography are sure to find themselves drawn in by their photos of Goodman in her signature black turtleneck and sleek blonde hair.

With the triple campaign whammy of Balenciaga, Isabel Marant and Emilio Pucci Gisele Bundchen proves herself high fashion’s MVP. Given that she’s already the current face of H&M and has taken over Stuart Weitzman from none other than Kate Moss, it can feel as though we’re seeing Gisele everywhere and that’s a good thing. Bundchen has always been a compelling presence in front of the camera and her jam-packed campaign slate gives her ample opportunity to display her versatility. In Steven Klein‘s (Art Partner) punk ads for Balenciaga she’s a buzz-cut sporting rebel, while Mario Sorrenti‘s(Art Partner) sleek ads for Pucci give her a chance to amp up the sex appeal in Peter Dundas‘ elegantly embellished party pieces. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin offer yet another interpretation with Bundchen playing Marant’s well-dressed everywoman in Marant’s signature relaxed knits and layers.

Jason Wu’s Four Seasons

Over the last few years Jason Wu has made a habit of taking supermodels to the world’s finest eateries – Karen Elson at Indochine, Stephanie Seymour at La Grenouille, Christy Turlington at Mr. Chows, an impressive lineup and a concept that has provided Wu’s ads with an appealing visual signature. For fall Wu and Adriana Lima head over to fabled Manhattan restaurant, The Four Seasons. Considering that The Four Seasons is the birthplace of the “powerlunch” it seems like an ideal spot to showcase the sophisticated and expertly tailored F/W collection. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shoot Lima against the restaurant’s impressive Mies van der Rohe designed interiors and Adriana looks right at home perched in a corner of the pool room.

Like A Boss

When Jason Wu took the creative reigns at Hugo Boss, he infused the storied brand with a dose of excitement. The fashion world waited with baited breath to see just what Wu would come up with and his streamlined fall collection didn’t disappoint. Given that Wu’s F/W runway was full of the kind of trend-proof wares that will remain relevant for decades to come, it’s only fitting that his debut campaign for BOSS maintains that timeless feel. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Joe McKenna (Art Partner) with creative direction by Wu, the Hugo Boss fall ads are refined and character driven – a move that is unsurprising considering that Wu launched his collection with a corresponding film.

Fall’s players include a dynamic and modern femme embodied by brand muse, Edie Campbell and a rugged male lead portrayed by Scott Eastwood, the dashing son of Hollywood legend Clint and a rising star in his own right. By centering the ads around these archetypes, Wu instantly grounds the BOSS ideals in the kind of classicism that feels contemporary. Edie’s versatility shines as she poses in tailored overcoats and dresses, while Eastwood lends his shots a touch of Hollywood panache.

If the sleek campaign looks different from what we’ve come to expect from it’s no mistake. “This is my first campaign for BOSS, and we wanted to take a fresh, different approach,” says BOSS Artistic  Director Jason Wu. “The HUGO BOSS tradition is in tailoring, which is always present, but it’s important that this campaign not only shows the BOSS clothes, but evokes the BOSS lifestyle.”
