Master Class is in Session

January 25th, 2016 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Class is in session and Vogue Paris harnesses the talents of three image-makers to dish out lessons in style. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh MatadinAlasdair McLellan and Mario Sorrenti lend  their respective lenses to capture a crop of the most in-demand girls giving an effortless how-to on wearing the latest season’s offerings. Of course we can’t all get dressed by stylists like Suzanne KollerMarie Chaix or Emmanuelle Alt, but it’s a good opportunity to take notes. Done in three parts from Edie Campbell‘s cover editorial to Karly Loyce and Lineisy Montero showing how to put some backbone in your fashion choices, while Alasdair gives his unstudied touch to his casting-centric series. See a preview of the editorials below.

Edie gets Eerie for T

August 26th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For the latest The New York Times Style MagazineInez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin imagine a world of fanciful contrast with Edie Campbell as their gothic muse. Cast in surreal blue light against a lush natural scene, it’s all black everything courtesy of stylist Joe McKenna. An uncanny Edie poses in a stark juxtapositioning and opposites attract, mixing the whimsy with the otherworldly. See the full the editorial here.

Boss Mode

June 30th, 2015 |Posted by Irene Ojo-Felix

It’s a moody, dark atmosphere that Jason Wu has envisioned for the Hugo Boss world. Doe-eyed beauty Edie Campbell and the dapper Clement Chabernaud take on a grooved-wall labyrinth in the Fall 2015 campaign shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Sleek tailoring and surprising pops of warm color are key to the visuals that exude a metropolitan edge with a confident swagger. Boss mode, indeed.

Power of Presence

June 15th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

Anthony Vaccarello released his AW 15-16 campaign featuring a fierce looking Amber Valletta dressed in a more tomboyish swath of clothes–in contrast to the sexed-up Anja Rubik from SS 15. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin lensed the icon for the latest campaign zeroing in on Valletta’s seasoned presence. Fresh off the runway for Marc Jacobs and glowing in The New York Times Style Magazine‘s The Face editorial shot by Craig McDean, the prolific muse makes staying in-demand look easy.

Perfection

May 19th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

032C’s summer 2015 issue dubbed “What We Believe” features two equally dynamic and expressive covers. On one, Anja Rubik balletically sprawls out in front of creative movement director Stephen Galloway, also known as “The Model Whisperer”. The editorial, photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin also features Cora Emmanuel looking like perfection incarnate. With Stephen present it’s no coincidence the images are full of poise. For cover number two, voguing singer FKA Twigs works it for Juergen Teller channeling the grandfather of vogue-ing, Willi Ninja, for the spread. Those concept cues are brought into full effect with styling by Karen Clarkson and an above-the-lip liner by Naoko Scintu. You can find the issue available now on their site.

I am Legend

April 27th, 2015 |Posted by steven.yatsko

For Vogue Brasil’s fortieth birthday, they laud none other than their own Brazilian legend, Gisele Bundchen. Though she walked her last show in the recent São Paolo Fashion Week, ending 20 years on the runway, the mega-model and mother continues to raise her fabled career to even more illustrious proportions. The cover shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin puts an unclothed and statuesque Gisele on a pedestal looking absolutely immortal. A very apropos choice.
