Iron Man

April 23rd, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Though everyone may be focused on the prevalence of “boobs” in fashion, we’re noticing that the strong and sexy man is getting their moment back in the spotlight. V Man‘s new story with Axel Brorson perfectly epitomizes the male form at its most athletic and sleek.

In this exclusive quote for V Man from Italo Zuccheli (the Men’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein); he announces that “Axel has a powerful, Scandinavian magnetism. He is like a young Dolph Lundgren. He perfectly fits the spirit of my fall collection, which is about masculinity and toughness to the extreme.” Calvin Klein is of course the brand with David Agbodji lending his flawless figure to the campaign this season.

Adding to the visual heat is Andres Velencoso Segura, who recently appeared on the new Vanity Fair Spain cover baring almost all. This, coupled with his new underwear campaign for Ermenegeldo Zegna shows that Mr. Segura can hang with the best of the new sexy, male models.

River Viiperi. Calvin Klein Men’s Collection F/W 10

For model watchers in the know, River Viiperi’s opening slot at the Calvin Klein Men’s Collection F/W 10 may come as no surprise since this young Spanish star’s been steadily rising over the past season. That being said, look 1 at Calvin is still one of the most coveted slots around and bodes very well for this exciting new face.  The show, which was streamed live for the first time ever on its website and Facebook  page, featured over a dozen exclusive models besides River. Tim R/VNY, Eric  W/Ford, Axel/Scoop, Armand/Success,  Phillipp Schmidt (Mega and DNA), Florian Bourdilla, Kadeem with Request, Eric Sage (Nous and Major), former MOTW Carlos Sander. Other new faces were Amaury with Success, Mitch with DNA, and Thomas with Click. David Agbodji, who opened and closed last season, and is currently featured in the men’s Spring 2010 Calvin Klein Collection advertising campaign was of course there to round out the strong and sexy collection by brand designer Italo Zucchelli. Present front row were Calvin fans like Ryan Philippe, Chace Crawford, Jared Leto and Kellan Lutz. Even with that VIP power wattage, River and company shown brightly and were the perfect faces for the iconic Calvin brand.

In light of the 2nd earthquake that just hit Haiti (the aftershock from the first one), we hope to remind everyone to do what they can to help our brothers and sisters in the devastated country. Here are some posts with places to donate. One Image Charity, Planet Awesome Kid, APhotoEditor. Text the word “Haiti” to 90999 which makes a $10 donation to the Red Cross. The Glory of David

Just released by WWD, is the first shot of the Calvin Klein men’s Spring Summer campaign with the unbelievable David Agbodji by Steven Klein. Rare is the campaign that takes our breath away but this one most certainly does. David opened the Calvin show this past July and has not looked back since. Sleek, sexy, and sophisticated, this campaign is perfection personified. (pic courtesy of Request)

Cool Britannia

March 25th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

The latest GQ Style is out in London and judging by the images pouring in, the UK continues to win as the hotbed of progressive men’s fashion editorials. Brand new face (and MDC former MOTW) Alan Carey appears on a unconventional and optimistic cover by Chad Pitman hailing an Obama led new America. One of our favorite newcomers David Agbodji is featured inside alongside Alan as well as Brittain Ward, Callum Turner, Kerry Degman, Oliver Cheshire, Tyler Riggs and Zach Ferry. The surprise appearance of Model.live’s Madeline Kragh is a fantastic casting choice for the story United State. We can’t wait for the issue to hit stateside!
