Love It Layered

August 27th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

AJ Abualrub appears in the September issue of GQ Russia alongside James Hampson and Helge Gjerstad showcasing some of fall’s finest looks from Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, and more. The changing leaves of autumn always results in an opportunity to explore some enticing layered outfits and Walter Chin captures these three distinctly handsome men in a variety of coats, blazers, cardigans, vests, and collared shirts partnered with tailored pants and refined footwear. If you’re looking for an accessory more signature of 2010, lose your tie and add a few bow ties to the mix this fall. Those who are truly looking to standout can experiment with the addition of some bold eyeglass frames, a trend that has become increasingly popular with members of young Hollywood like Joe Jonas. The Return of the Man

January 8th, 2010 |Posted by Betty

Cory Bond by Mariano Vivanco for Cesare Paciotti S/S 10

V Magazine‘s new size issue is generating much discussion making us examine our views on female models’ beauty in relation to their size. But what about the men? Two who light us up right now are Cory Bond and AJ Abualrub. Cory, at 32 and looking better than ever, plays the sexy foil to Isabeli Fontana in the Cesare Paciotti campaign.  AJ, last spring’s striking Calvin Klein face fronts this season’s Levi’s campaign by Ryan McGinley exuding a very panther-like energy. Both campaigns revel in their subjects’ utter masculinity and the fact that these are definitely men, not boys. We personally love this embrace of the manly man…. do you?

Unbreakable

November 25th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Get ready to add another magazine to your reading list: Feld Hommes, is a unique men’s publication from Hamburg and its latest issue, is on our radar. Inside Feld’s pages, AJ Abualrub and Steffen Weng are featured in an intriguing story by Markus Pritzi. The pictures range from erotic to undefinable, but each one is captivating and Isabelle Thiry‘s, styling adds just the right touch of darkness.

Rico Suave

November 18th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

VMan’s annual model search always finds an impressive face and this years winner Rico Nieves, has all the makings of a star. Joining the ranks of Petey Wright and AJ Abualrub before him, Rico graces the magazine’s cover and takes center stage in an editorial by Nick Knight.  The bold caption, “the making of the new Latino supermodel” certainly gets your attention.

Bits and Bytes: From rooftop to runway

June 24th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Jean Carlos at DSquared2, S/S10. Image from Made in Brazil. With MC2 Model Management.

Seems like a mere 15 minutes ago, Jean Carlos was shooting his first tests in New York on a rooftop. This week, the Brazilian so popular with the fashion bloggers walked some of the big runways in Milan, including DSquared2, CP Company, Etro and Giorgio Armani.

—————————————

If you adore Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Marisa Miller, Adriana Lima, Selita Ebanks, Miranda Kerr, Behati Prinsloo and Doutzen Kroes, then go to Victoria’s Secret’s Facebook page.

Surprise! Jamie Dornan, in 3 of the season’s Calvin Klein campaigns, says he’s never done a runway show.

The Milan men’s shows had some breathing room, thanks to the recession.

Frockwriter talks about the “Hedi Sliminization” of fashion and here’s the Guy Trebay NY Times article on AJ Abualrub dropping 30 pounds for the shows. Much has been made of him saying he eats twice a day; not that we are condoning that but all we can say is when we were in our teens, we had totally bad habits like eating twice a day too.

Watch Jil Sander, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli all here and Burberry, Zegna and Dolce & Gabbana here.

Helmut Newton‘s Sumo re-released!

For his S/S 10 show, Alexander McQueen does a film instead with David Sims.

Here’s another hilarious look by Jezebel at male models in vintage catalogs. All we can say is the male model and what they wear sure has changed!

Sans Artifice likes the Jil Sander collection and we do too!

Fall for Calvin

June 17th, 2009 |Posted by Betty

Because we know that you, like us, are endlessly fascinated with any mention of the Calvin Klein brand, here’s a breakdown of their different lines for Fall Winter 09 by WWD. MDC top newcomer Jac is the fantastic new face of Calvin Klein Collection by David Sims. (Click here for a sneak peek at that momentous first meeting of Jac and creative director Fabien Baron). Longtime Calvin Klein favorite Jamie Dornan (currently in their Calvin Klein Free Fragrance campaign) joins Eva Mendes in sensual black and white images for Calvin Klein Underwear photographed by Steven Klein. Eva also appears in Calvin Klein Jeans by Steven Klein. What we can’t wait for is Jourdan Dunn and Sigrid Agren‘s campaign for cK Calvin Klein by Craig McDean to appear shortly. Edita Vilkeviciute, along with Jamie Dornan again, Model Linkfronts Calvin Klein White Label photographed also by McDean. Fabien Baron, who is the creative director behind Collection, Underwear, Jeans and ck Calvin Klein, is back this week as the editorial director for Interview. Also a photographer, Mr. Baron may be the Stateside version of Karl Lagerfeld: multi tasker extraordinaire. The only big campaign left is men’s Collection, which, if it’s like AJ Abualrub‘s, will be most definitely a star maker.

Wild At Heart

June 15th, 2009 |Posted by Janelle

Mariano Vivanco creates a savage look for Dazed and Confused with covergirl Kendra Spears. AJ Abualrub and new face Roy Pratt look dangerous in feathers and jet black. Nicola Formichettis gothic styling adds a touch of the sinister but the whole story feels wonderfully daring.
