Bits & Bytes: Visionary + Visionaire

Visionaire‘s next issue will be a tribute to Alexander McQueen. Here’s the preview for it on Visionaireworld. Going to have to fork out the $295 for this one. (Image from Visionaireworld)
Fashion news:
A lot of you may know Dusan Reljin‘s name from his wonderful work as a photographer. But did you know he just designed a sunglasses collection for Selima; featured here on Style.com.
Anna Dello Russo is the best! See Anna’s life story in Japanese manga format. I still can’t decide 100% if it is really her blog but it’s so over the top, it probably is.
This incredible fashion shoot by Simon Procter for Vs Magazine is given some good lovin’ by Sans Artifice.
Photography news:
Mert & Marcus‘ ex assistant chats to Love Magazine. Besides being talented; Angelo Pennetta is very, very funny.
The next photographer duo? The German duo of Billy und Hells are worth a look.
Miscellaneous:
Many of you know that Tara Subkoff is recovering from brain cancer. Read her interview with Harper’s Bazaar about her journey.
I’ve met Justin Gelband and he most definitely is intense. I see why Victoria’s Secret stars and Sports Illustrated beauties go to him to be trained.
I loved American Elle growing up in the 80′s. It was joyful, inclusive and still aspirational. Jezebel compares the 1986 May issue with this month’s issue.
Did Anna Wintour really have a brief affair with Bob Marley in the 70′s? Oh Anna you naughty girl, you.
You gotta love Jezebel playing detective. Is Kimora Lee Simmons head really on Daria Werbowy’s body?
Modeling news:
Ohhhh yeaaaahhh! It’s about time. Models edge out celebrities for fashion ads. WWD lists some of the major houses for fall.
Models Myf Shepherd (who is in art school) and Rachel Rutt are doing anonymous interviews with fashion insiders for MUTT; should be quite interesting.
Casting director Julia Samersova talks to MSN about the new faces of tomorrow (including Estee Lauder faces Liu and Constance).
Love Magazine takes a “boob break” and has casting director Michelle Lee pick her favorite new “androgynous” girls.
Speaking of boobs, here are Jonathan Leder’s pics/video of his new work for Jacques. His work always seem tasteful and respectful to women; some consider him the anti Terry.
Hmmm, what are those birds diving towards? Click here to see more polaroids of great new face Johannes Niermann. Johannes walked Burberry, Zegna, Prada and Viktor & Rolf this past January.

Visionare’s McQueen issue promises to be nothing short of amazing. It’s a shame the Lee is not going to see the tribute…
Models.com, I trust you will be kind enough to post the story when out. Not many can afford to shell out that kind of cash (that is if we can even get our hands on one)

I find it distasteful that V magazine will sell the tribute copies for such an astronomical sum of money. I can’t help but think that V is in some way profiting of McQueens legacy. I would pay the $295 only if it was being donated to a notable charity, other than that no way, am not that gullible

@NAGL; That’s Visionaire magazine, not Vmag. Not sure if you just misread it or are not familiar with the mag, but all their issues cost that much.

Mhhmm that Anna rumor seems so suspicious, need more details. Mcqueen and Visionarie is a must get. And I love those polaroids.

NAGL:
Yes, all of Visionaire’s magazines are at least that much… many cost a loooot more. Each issue Visionaire is an exclusive run with limited copies and many have specially produced items just for each issue. This issue is actually somewhat “affordable” as far as their magazines go, they are definitely not trying to profit from McQueen’s death.
Best,
Betty
