Shades of Armor
April 28th, 2010 contributor comments (16)Spring may have a bit of trouble arriving here in NY but that doesn’t mean the onslaught of eyewear ads have stopped. The men’s eyewear campaigns are proving their undeniable love for aviators. Dolce & Gabbana chose a gold rimmed aviator style for their S/S 10 campaign while Prada opted for a white rimmed one. Hugo Boss offers a simplistic take on the style with a classic black rim pair. The aviators seem to be the preferred style by stylists as well, several making their way into a British GQ editorial showing the fluid transition from an athletic to a western look. Other popular shapes? Burberry‘s rectangular frame is unusual, while Ermenegildo Zegna did their take on the classic Rayban Wayfarer shape. Mysterious, sexy, practical. Are you tempted to pick up any of these? (story by Arianna Gross)

Zegna & Dolce for me.
The Zegna campaign is quite beautiful.
Due largely inpart to the ever-dapper Senor Elcacho of course. The sunnies are lovely.

David Gandy’s commanding presence and in-your-face sex appeal catapults Dolce and Gabbana campaign to the next level!
but I must say, Prada’s use of shape and proportion is mystical and alluring!
Zegna is just Chic!

I love Oriol Elcacho in the Zenga campaign. It reminds me of the serene Spring ’07 Bottega Veneta ads.

Dolce looks ridiculously hot. As for the eyewear, I’m looking for a certain pair from Dries Van Noten.
