m4 models‘s Alexander Wolf (found at Oktoberfest!) has us mesmerized with his unforgettable presence (doesn’t he look like he should be in Twilight?). There are some major players circling as well around this young German man.

The Frockwriter piece sheds some bright light on the modeling climate. The Catherine Mcneil bit was a bit scary. She is a bit of a rough-houser though no?

Agents, clients and definitely the common man are at some fault for sucking the human from models. I don’t know why so many people still choose to perpetuate this notion that models are devoid of brains and feeling. Agency big-whigs could use the recent events to unite to promote some sort of interventive structure on how and when some of the girls work so that they may have some piece of mind and perhaps time to deal with their lives outside of the modeling industry if need be… The main reason so many of us admire Lakshmi Menon and the like, for taking hold of themselves and approaching the industry with a seasoned perspective.

No, the agents are not babysitters nor shrinks and there’s only so much that they can do but perhaps a more humanistic dialogue can ensue, especially when dealing with the teenagers who may be away from home for extended periods. Sending them from A-Z, beyond and back does take a toll, it may not be death always but there is some mind f*ck going on.

Of course many models can duck out if they need to but I sometimes sense that it’s indirectly instilled in many young models that there is no way out until dues are paid, like they don’t want to disappoint so they put everyone before themselves and before they know it, their caught up. Sometimes it goes forgotten that they are people before models. I definitely agree with Wayne on the superfluous aspect of creating this vision while seemingly negating social responsibility… which spans the gamut from mental stability, race, health, classicsm, etc.
