Graffiti Bridge
October 23rd, 2009 Janelle comments (37)No one does couture like Vogue Paris. While the magazine never fails to provide images worth talking about, their couture extravaganzas are always sights to behold. Especially when they take couture away from its gilded trappings and bring it out into the real world. This month Mario Sorrenti shoots an elegantly coifed Raquel Zimmermann against a background of graffiti and grime. Mixing street art and the expressive scrawlings of artist Kaws with pieces from Dior and Armani Prive is an inspired turn and the playful story captures the excitement of the season perfectly. If you can tear your eyes away from Raquel and the stunning graffiti you’ll notice how truly lovely Emmanuelle Alt‘s ultra feminine styling is.

i don’t really like this editorial. i think vogue paris definately can do better. great how raquel is photographed, the poses are great. but all in all it looks pretty cheap to me. i don’t like the grafitti at all. and that models are photographed in elegant dresses in an ugly and scruffy area isn’t really new, is it? mdc just writes about it like it was the newest and most interesting idea ever.. i’m not convinced.

don’t like the idea of using a graffiti background, cause it makes it hard to focus on the model. its sad cause the model is good tough
