The Valentino Vibe

July 22nd, 2014 Posted by Janelle comment (1)

Master photographer David Bailey (Visual Artist UK ) has created some of the most iconic fashion imagery of all time and as lensman for the newest Valentino campaign Bailey brings an appealing simplicity to the black and white portraits of elegant fresh faces. Models Harleth KuusikMaartje VerhoefIne Neefs and Josephine Van Delden look regal in Bailey’s stately portraits, showing off the pop-art influenced collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. The end result is a campaign that eschews trendiness in favor of elegance and the kind of graceful imagery that will look just as fresh decades from now.

Ok, hopefully this comment won’t get delete. First of all, congrats to the four girls, they are amazing and the campaign is absolutely beautiful, and even though I’m a person that cannot afford Valentino, the clothes are amazing.

My point here is that I realized that all four girls are European, which makes me wonder, as a person from a Latin American country, where are the latin models? There are latin models that can do more than VS, and also there is a wide range of ethnicities. Hopefully this situation will be taken into consideration by casting diretors and modelling agencies.
