VS Angel Miranda Kerr certainly has model watchers doing a re-think after her note perfect turn on the Balenciaga SS10 catwalk. Here’s a quick byte from Miss Kerr on the experience.

How did you come on the radar for the Balenciaga SS10 Miranda?
It was a total unexpected surprise when I  was requested to meet with Nicolas and Marie Amelie for the runway casting. I wasn’t planning on doing any shows and had confirmed booking with Victoria’s Secret everyday. They were so kind to move things around so as I could make it to Paris for the fitting and the show.

Are there more shows like this in your near future? Should we expect some blue chip editorial Miranda moments?
I have recently shot V magazine with Willy Vanderperre, among other editorial fashion stories. As for shows, Balenciaga is the only show I will do during SS2010 collections.

How did you find the backstage atmosphere at Balenciaga as compared the world of VS?

Ah…they are entirely different! The one similarity is the fashion mayhem and high energy!! I am blessed to be invited to be a part of both worlds.

What are planning to see/do/buy while in Paris?

I love absorbing all things unique to Paris. It truly is one of my favorite cities in the world. Unfortunately, I was only there for 2 days but I did get to go to a few of my favorite cafes and bars. Among them, Cafe Ruc and Bar Hemingway.  Of course, I managed to  squeeze in a little shopping at Isabel Marant, Dior and Balenciaga, of course!

What’s the one piece you must have from the show?
I absolutely love the jacket from my look in the show. There is nothing like it. It is a definite must have for my closet!

shes beautiful beyond words! i think she was a very nice replacement for Gisele, although many dont think of her as a replacement (and believe me, she was!). Miranda is a powerhouse in her own right, and i loved her turn at Balenciaga…but there´s something that i cannot understand…Givenchy got Adriana last year for the runway show, and then she was in the campaign also….is Balenciaga trying to copy Givenchy? Because Adriana made the fashion crowd cheer in the seats when she appeared…are they trying to do something similar with MIranda? Maybe having Miranda on their ads too??? they like to go with unconventional (and beautiful) women like Jennifer Connelly…i hope this ‘grown woman’ aesthetic lasts because im really tired of those skinny girls, im loving that Claudia, Eva, Yasmin and Kristen are back in the spotlight, those women can sell magazines!

Maybe my eyes are bad…but is the picture above a pic of Miranda?

  11. GP says:

Love Miranda!!! Doesn’t look like her in the photo, I was like “is she really Miranda?” when I first see the photo in style.com. I thnk we are so used to her VS look so we could not reconised her in high fashion make-up. Hope to see more of Miranda in shows and magazins. She will be the next supermodel.

  12. kimM says:

This is great!! More variety on the catwalks!! And she seems to blend in quite well. So silly, the division of VS and “high fashion”.

  13. scout says:

I love this!! She looks amazing.

  14. Eric_Gabriel says:

I really should get a new pair of glasses because she doesn’t look anything like Miranda…at all!

That make up artist is a keeper!

  15. Joe says:

I love this . Selita Ebanks should make the move to high fashion soon too . With models like Constance Jablonski ,Toni Garrn and Anna Jagodzinska taking centre stage in the industry at the moment {the ‘obvious beauties’} VS models could definitely make the conversion

  16. Netto says:

Maybe my eyes are bad…but is the picture above a pic of Miranda? [2]

  17. Zakuro Yugo(ZY) says:

Elegance and Sexiness are with only a shade of difference.
I think she looks nice in this colothes.

  18. MargiSybil says:

    that’s a nice post,
u must see my site too!

  19. Amarilla says:

Love the outfit but her make up is clown-ish and I am a “less is more” fan when it comes to make up.

  20. ACG says:

… sure that’s not her … she’s nice but she’s not Miranda … well guess so
