A Grand Finale

Marc Jacobs tenure at Louis Vuitton comes to a close with a stellar campaign shot by Steven Meisel and featuring a series of the designer’s muses. Film legend Catherine Deneuve, director Sofia Coppola and actress Fan Bing Bing share space alongside models Gisele Bundchen, Edie Campbell and Caroline de Maigret in Meisel’s elegant images. Sporting Mona Lisa smiles and pieces from Jacobs’ dramatic final collection Marc’s muses each represent a facet of the Vuitton ideal. Meisel’s portraits with their refined styling by Karl Templer, exquisite makeup courtesy of Pat McGrath and chic coifs by Guido Palau imbue his subjects a regal quality and capture the essence of each woman.

  1. I know the austere background and styling somehow reflect Marc´s last collection for LV, but I wish there was more grandness to it -aesthetically – besides the great casting. Louis Vuitton and modesty do not walk hand in hand!

  2. gisele …is DIVINE she s the only one to really delivers something extraordinary , no matter how big is the cast but the images are boring

  3. Gisele… oh Gisele… No wonder you’re the biggest of the biggests. This image of her deserves to be on the wall of LV building.

  4. I like the concept but hate the cast. It’s a missed opportunity for something really remarkable and iconic. My cast would have been: Stephanie Seymour, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, Carmen Dell’Orifice, Joan Smalls and Fan Bing Bing.

  5. When I read “I don’t get Gisele”, I also read : “I don’t get fashion”. Or more : “I don’t get the history o fashion”. Even more : “I don’t get ART”. Gisele is Unique.
